No, that’s
not what I’m saying. Like
at all. All of those are of course completely fine, and I would have thought by now you would know that I actually understand my job as a moderator here as making sure negative criticisms as these can be voiced. Heck, if you go through some of the individual things I said about the show and the episodes, you’ll find plenty of negative criticism. I have something to complain about in almost every episode.
I wasn’t even aware we were suddenly talking about you, because genuinely, I wasn’t. I’m talking about people who said bigoted things about this show or one of the previous shows. Something racist, sexist, homophobic … what have you.
These kind of people usually act like the bigoted things they say about these shows are “just valid criticism”. For example, saying something like: “There’s too many women in leadership positions on the show. I have nothing against women and I just want the show to succeed, but I think this show would be better with strong men as leaders.“ This is a misogynistic comment disguised as just voicing a criticism of the show.
I genuinely think you are wrong about your estimation of how many bigoted viewers and fans of
Star Trek there are and whether they present a problem or not. But putting that discussion to the side, does the rest of what I said make sense to you? Do you now understand what I meant?
