Spoilers Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

Yes...you were the one who for some reason though it would erase their bisexuality by doubling down on their relationship for whatever reason
Because making them lesbians is only way to double down on their relationship in a way that would have contextual relevance to what Not Spock was saying...

Reading into Karim's post I can't help but wonder if the show didn't get third season orders or what?
If that's the case.. damn.

I guess I think using trek to "out bigots" doesn't make sense to me. All the way back to TOS we had minority characters. So fans of star trek are not bigots.
Ah, if only that were so, that people who watch TV shows with minority characters in it could not be bigots.

What are you talking about?
He’s calling Stephen Miller — a self-professed fan of Star Trek as made by creative mind William Shatner — a bigot. However, let’s not bring politics into this part of the board.

My apologies, I posted and then thought about removing but was dealing with kids and a dog and the damage was done.

I found Picard season 3 hugely entertaining, but was it good? So much ridiculous stuff happens, it's like Michael Bay or JJ Abrams were in charge. I love that kind of stuff, but the ending alone where they zip the old Enterprise through the big cube and fly right over Picard and Jack to beam them up... and Jack somehow got to keep his hair and had his Borg implant gently glued to his face and not drilled in as every prior Borg assimilation has shown... come on. It's big dumb fun, but it was Star Trek: Space Cowboys.

It’s fine, honestly. The mere mention of a politician’s name in jest should be fine, IMHO. I just wanted to nip any potential protracted discussion about politics in the bud. You guys have elsewhere for that. ;)

Well there are some bigots im sure but I think its safe to say the majority of star trek fans are not. I used to go to a lot of creation star trek conventions when I was a teenager (yeah I was a nerd and didn't care) and never saw any bigotry with the people I met. Today I go to comic cons but they really aren't the same. They are too large and there are too many people so you don't talk to other fans as much.

I thought Stephen Miller was a tv producer. I was confusing with the tv producer Thomas Miller of Full House. Lol. But yeah im not a politician.

Looking back on the discussion I think I am Not Spock might be specifically mentioning people that don't like "woke". But that opens more worms. I would hope star trek isnt being used as a bigotry finder against star trek fans that might not like SFA for various other reasons. My dislike is more for time setting, the look of the show, the young romance stuff(really more for kids in my opionon) and the writing. Its starting to feel like a soap opera. It just doesnt feel like trek to me.
