pic s3 is ok, but overrated af. The usual Youtube clickbait crowd who hate on everything Kurtzman era single out s3 for praise. They neglect to mention Matalas was in charge of season 2, which the grifters revile.

They use Pic s3 to bash other new Trek shows, particularly Discovery.

I though Pic season 3 was alright, but not the best thing since sliced bread. Bringing back the Borg was such lazy writing. At least season 1 of Pic tried to do something different.

Matalas could have saved season 2 but he was to busy working on his magnum opus, that would be season 3.

Discovery's Ferengi were still very recognisable as Ferengi.

The Klingons and the Xindi Insectoids probably needed some explaining but nothing headcanon cant solve.

The makeup was so rubbery looking and badly blended that it was obvious that it was fake.

Discovery's Ferengi were still very recognisable as Ferengi.

Maybe this time at least it will be an actual hero makeup and not the stiff looking mask we got last time.

Picard Season 2 really deserves a pass there as the "past" arc ended up being forced to extend a lot longer then they had originally planned due to Covid.

In my opinion, Covid restrictions are not a valid excuse for such a poor execution overall. They still needed to write better material, and if they insist on doing a seasonal arc, then there should be more care to make it consistent.

Again, just IMO.

Discovery's version used a full mask instead of just a headpiece, this created a number of problems with the makeup, most glaring of which was that they couldn't "glue down and blend" the eyeholes so you can literally see the open space around the eyes of the mask.

In addition they used a skin tone and highlighting for the mask that made it look more like old shoe leather then skin. Forgot the teeth. And didn't powder the mask to dull both it's reflectivness and latexy look.

Now, I will wait patiently for you to come up with an actual counter to those actual points.
