Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley developing Star Trek reboot for Paramount

Bad Robot has nothing to do with the TV shows. Bad Robot is Abrams's production company, Kurtzman's company is Secret Hideout.

Again why would Paramount keep throwing money at these shows? A reboot movie was just announced and no involvement of Abrams or Kurtzman. No way Paramount will want to produce new shows and a big budget picture .

Is that so?

1988-89: TNG Season 2
1989: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

1990-91: TNG Season 4
1991: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

1993-94: TNG Season 7, DS9 Season 1 and 2
1994: Star Trek: Generations

1995-96: DS9 Season 4, VGR Season 2
1996: Star Trek: First Contact

1997-1998: DS9 Season 6, VGR Season 4
1998: Star Trek: Insurrection

2001-2002: Enterprise Season 1
2002: Star Trek: Nemesis

Yeah, Paramount has never produced televised and theatrical Star Trek simultaneously before.

But the movies were not reboots. The same team that made the shows were making the movies. No way they will keep kurtzman for the reboot.

The rumors are getting more credible every day. Why would they continue having bad robot making tv shows when they aren't even making the next movie? The writing is on the wall. I truly do not believe Paramount will greenlight yet another show with bad robot
Why?

It's Secret Hideout, NOT Bad Robot, who's producing streaming Trek.

A good portion of these rumor sites missed the Stargate reboot (no one is going to say anything that will jeopardize their job).

We'll have to wait and see. So far it doesnt look good for kurtzman to keep producing new trek shows after they start with the reboot .

What are you even arguing for at this point?

I think SNW would have looked better if they had taken SW's sort of retro but still futuristic look to ship design. I still like the show because I like the characters, but IMO I am not a big fan of how sleek the ship looks.

The Kurtzman hate is strong. For someone that makes things people don't watch people certainly talk about him a lot.

I think he has more defenders than Rick Berman did towards the end. Kurtzman has done decent in the job but IMO we Trek fans also have big expectations. We always feel their is someone even better fitted who is going to take Trek to that next level or get it back to it's height in popularity in the mid 1990's.

Just like Nebraska Cornhusker fans, Trekkies need to make peace with the fact that the 90's heyday is never coming back.

Warner Brothers is currently still making the Matt Reeves version of Batman alongside James Gunn's DCU production unit. There is historical precedent.
Will they make money is the important question. If they were not then they would stop.

You running a betting pool? What's the odds right now?

Question: how will your life substantially change once Kurtzman is gone? And why does Trek need to be popular? It's not going to assure better quality. We got freaking Generations, Insurrection and Nemesis, some of the lesser films in the franchise.

Just like that heyday will never return Trekkies will never accept. It's rose tinted glasses.

I think Trek can become as popular as it was again. You just need someone who has a vision and is talented enough to make it happen. Even when franchises are down like say Star Wars you always have the possibility of a "Andor" still being made within it. I would love to see Trek's someday have it's "Andor." It would be funny if the Trek version was also called "Andor" and was about Andorians.

Disney would not permit it.
