Sci-fi interiors in general are much larger than the exteriors created for them because no one during production of a sci-fi film/show has the time to really think this sort of thing through until long after the fact. I don't believe the interior of the Millennium Falcon fits with its established exterior dimensions either--I doubt you could fit the Galaxy's Edge Falcon interior rooms inside the actual exterior model shown at Disneyland/World easily.
