As if people care about other people's relationships that much. It's...bizarre to me.

Khan's a narcissist in a way, an egomaniac so a relative's accomplishments strike me as meaning extremely little to him.
I think you're missing the point that regardless of any mention in tos putting spock through another failed relationship is ds9 torturing obrien territory

A collection of bad tropes strung together and more laughing at the era then trying to show it in any sort of laugh with us parody.

Episodes like this would land better if there were more normal episodes around them. I really miss the science fiction in this science fiction TV show.

(I don't know enough about murder mysteries to know if this was a good example of the genre or not, but it felt kind of simple. So not?)

Anyway. I liked the retro Enterprise design. One of my coworkers built the model, it was a pretty quick one-week job. Design supplied by the SNW art department.

There was a nice long The Cage-style pullback from the saucer & fading into the magazine cover that we did but got cut. I'm sad to see it removed because it was probably the best look at the design given it's limited appearance.

I freaking loved it. All the Hollywood references, the industry insider shit and infighting and egos, the Scotty B-plot, Uhura trying to help him out with his "hypotheticals" and not ratting him out (when she probably should have). They were all so good doing their holodeck characters. Plus it was gorgeous to look at. Although, while I was watching Spock and La'an I was kind of - WTF is happening? But I'm fine seeing where this goes. I don't 'ship. Got no skin in the game.

I'm surprised by all the hate and outrage and po-faced reactions though. This was brilliant work. Meta, but in the best way.

The only part I thoroughly enjoyed was the final one, with its goofs. I genuinely laughed, it was delightful, but the episode itself — what was the point of it? Most of the holodeck episodes in TNG had some relevance to the mission or to the broader sense of duty/moral quandary, etc., personal development. Do we really need to see Spock flirt with every woman on board? A healthy libido is a positive thing, but seriously, that's not his defining characteristic — he's a brilliant scientist, a science officer.

He should've been in the bridge too. The only reason he wasn't was to preserve the holodeck surprise

I was enjoying it enough until they uttered the phrase 'safety protocols are off-line.' Sigh. Too many past Holodeck episodes have worn the well travelled road already.

The more I think, the episode seemed like a strange mesh of all of the past Holodeck episodes, even if it was hilarious seeing Paul Wesley sending up Shatner. :D

I'm very happy that La'an & Spock finally become a couple.

It was definitely a fun ep for me, I really enjoyed it.

Why does Spock need to be everyone's love interest?!
Because Ethan Peck is a "Sexy Man"!

Those two aspects of Spock don't need to be mutually exclusive.

He can be a Brilliant Scientist & Science Officer, while having a Very Healthy Libido

Is it me, or was the Door on Set super Antagonistic to everybody?
It intentionally didn't want to work to let anybody through.

You got to love the Shatner impressions.
