Season 4 First Look

It's almost like there's some stranger's hand influencing it.

"Greetings, felicitations and Tally Ho" says a bartender who suddenly appears on the bridge. "This is going to be so fun until my parents catch me."

Pike, Spock and crew start singing The Muppet Show intro...

Frankly, sometimes seeing long time fans complain about canon violations or basically just short circuiting like Norman when confronted with a logic bomb brings me great joy and gratitude as well. It's a TV show, people. Enjoy it for what it is and as long as it lasts.

Bring on the Muppets!

You guys are like people wishing for Deep Space Nine to have more Ferengi episodes just so you can laugh when viewers have to sit through them.

Perhaps the greatest message Star Trek has to teach is that it's hilarious to ruin a TV franchise in order to own the fans.

This is not ruining the franchise. It’s taking a chance. Something the franchise is in dire need of. You need not like the choice to see that to be true. The idea of following the same formula time again is not going to bring in new viewers. The existing audience isn’t getting any younger.

The Buffyverse did not create musicals or puppet episodes, plenty of other shows have done both concepts, both before and after Buffy and Angel did their respective episodes.

As ever, I feel obliged to point out that XENA did the musical thing ("The Bitter Suite") before BUFFY, yet somehow BUFFY always gets cited as kicking off the trend.

Heck, XENA did two musical episodes, although the second one ("Lyre, Lyre, Pants on Fire") wasn't as good as the first one.

This will be offtopic a bit, but love your books, Greg.

Trying new things to keep a career alive isn't even a new concept. It's just staggering how frightened of change fans can be.

If someone likes the Ferengi episodes, they can hardly be faulted for wanting more of them.

More often than not, Strange New Worlds is successful with their "Big Swings," therefore fans of the show appreciate when they attempt more of them.

Will they all be successful? Probably not. But we'd never know if they didn't keep swinging.

Now that they've strip-mined every memberberry possible out of the franchise, all they have left is gimmicks.

If loving "Little Green Men" and "House of Quark" is wrong, I don't want to be right. :)
