Now I'm wondering how the hell they're going to explain this in the episode.
I'm not against the idea of puppet episodes, Angel did it pretty well and I think Legends of Tomorrow did a couple of stories, but how the hell do they explain it in Star Trek?
Is the prototype holodeck malfunctioning and creating puppets?
Have they been drinking the Orion delaq again?
Is it a dream sequence?
Are they animatronics created by an alien theme park?
Oh......close enough I guess ...

You're a kind man.Well... that's different.
They need to steal the one ferom StarGate SG-1 where they had 'other' actotrs doing a in universe TV show...call the episode:And let's not forget the episode coming up with an alternate Kirk who is an actor on a sci-fi show similar to Star Trek. They stole that from supernatural.
Because they are not making the show just for youWhy are they doubling down on the stuff that doesn't work for the show?
I heard it's a backdoor pilot for a puppet spinoff...Oh no, you finally did it...damnnnn youu.
This will be bad. RIP season 4

It's a concept not really for me.You're a kind man.
It's a single episode, it's not like every episode of the series is like that. Just skip it.Well they're making a certain kind of series, which is fine. They are staking out their own unique corner of the ST franchise. It's not what I watch Star Trek for, which - by the way - is also fine - there are TONS of hours of Star Trek for me to enjoy. If this wasn't a series about the Enterprise before Kirk, I probably would have dropped it a lot sooner.
I certainly don't begrudge or criticize anyone who really likes this sort of thing. I like a lot of shows people would think are pretty stupid. But if there was a shark this series could jump over that it hasn't already, this is certainly it. The "Great Vegetable Rebellion" of SNW: enjoyable in its own way, but not really what got me to like the series when it started.
Star Trek was always fun for me without having to do this kinda thing. That's why 4 year old me fell in love with the original series. Was it high concept? Sure, plenty of times. Was it silly? Sometimes, absolutely. But Muppets are way over the line for me. I respect all y'all's opinions and whatnot, but the writing is on the wall for me and this series.
Doesn't appeal to me either. But I wouldn't have put it as politely as you. It's a concept not really for me.
Oh no. One episode doesn't appeal to me.
Anyway.
The Muppet paradox has strings attached.Pike: If I stay a muppet, that means I can't get irradiated and put into a wheelchair. But if I stay a muppet, will that still doom the Fed to a Romulan war and Spock getting crippled?
Oh ... there's so many ways I could add to that ...I heard it's a backdoor pilot for a puppet spinoff...
It's almost like there's some stranger's hand influencing it.The Muppet paradox has strings attached.
