Strange New Worlds renewed for a fourth season

It's the main reason people alter their physical appearance.
No, it's not. Unless you're twelve.

You know, Christian Bale has gained weight and lost weight and put on muscle etc. throughout his career for different roles. People have certainly questioned the healthiness of his practice, and have suggested (and he's acknowledged) that it may not be the best example to hold up as an actor's ideal method of preparation.

But I don't think anyone's ever ascribed what he does to "peer pressure." Probably because he's an adult male and therefore by default assumed to have agency.

It's not any more worthy of speculation or judgment when Gooding loses weight than if she gained it.

I'm just glad that production for Season 4 has begun!

... even if we are still waiting for Season 3.

I disagree with the assertion that peer pressure isn't a major factor in most people trying to lose weight. It's still very common, and although the pressure has become gentler and more nuanced as my social group moves into its 50s and 60s it's hardly gone away.

I do, however, very much agree that the film and TV industry is not "most" people. When there's pressure on an actor to lose or gain weight or bulk or muscle, it's generally not "peer" pressure because a peer is an equal - and when there's outside pressure on an actor, it's almost always from an authority figure. That's not peer pressure.

But I very much agree that it's none of our business why Ms. Gooding lost weight - if she even did, which I certainly don't see in that photo. What I see is longer hair, which changes the perceived shape of one's face, and a very flattering angle as one would expect for a publicity photograph. But anyway, if she did lose weight that's none of our concern - with the caveat that if we should learn that some authority figure pushed her into doing something she didn't want to do, we should get angry.

Finally, as excited as I am that Season 4 is filming, I really just want Season 3 to be released so I can watch it! Are we there yet? Are we there yet? :)

Random aside, when I was a kid going on long drives with my parents, I knew it made absolutely no sense to ask "are we there yet?" since by simple virtue of still moving on the road, we obviously weren't there. I instead asked "are we almost there?" repeatedly.
If memory serves, my sister and I opted for the much more reasonable "how much longer!?!"

I wonder if the premier announcement is being delayed due to the merger.
Perhaps Skydance Media wants to get the glory for when it is finally released?

Supposedly, the merger is due to be finalized by June, but there's still a court battle going on over it.

I don't think something like that should delay the premiere of a season that's already completed.

It's nothing some nice "Go away" money can't solve.

But at this point, it's possible that Skydance may be requiring Paramount to not make any business decisions until the merger is complete.
Which might include releasing new material that hasn't been scheduled yet.
(or the Paramount board may be voluntarily doing it not to create any new problems)

Except just yesterday, Paramount announced Tulsa King has been renewed for a third season. If they weren't allowed to "make any business decisions until the merger is complete" then they certainly wouldn't be allowed to do that, would they? Renewing a show for another season is a far more significant business decision then announcing a premiere date would be.
