He doesn't have an opinion on it, he hasn't seen it, he's just quick to promote other people who say that it's bad because it supports his assumptions.
Oh, you can be sure he hates it. Doesn't matter if he's seen it or not.He doesn't have an opinion on it, he hasn't seen it, he's just quick to promote other people who say that it's bad because it supports his assumptions.
The plot is actually Bar Rescue coming in to save Georgiou’s joint.I have P+ so why not? I mean it's a good excuse to stop watching Bar Rescue for the bajillionth time, and no matter what I'm just glad to see Yeoh have another gig because she's always put in the work. Though this makes me want a Trek film with Cynthia Rothrock in it to even the score.
You joke but I'd pay to see a Taffer cameo of him trashing a bar and raging about cross-contamination.The plot is actually Bar Rescue coming in to save Georgiou’s joint.
I'd watch it because it's star trek. Then I'd give my own review.I voted for "waiting for reviews".
Because I like Star Trek but I didnt like Disco, and I don't have time to watch everything. And I am not a big fan of S31, so if the reviews are great maybe I am going to watch it.
To me reviews are a facet of reaction. Was this particular presentation considered decent or not after the fact critically or by fans.Reviews will help me to decide if I want to watch something if I'm on the fence about it and it comes from reviewers I generally agree with. But it still works for me even if it's someone I never agree with: the more they hate it, they more I think I might like it. "They hate it, so it must be good!" "They liked it, so I want to avoid it like the plague!" It can work both ways.
But, if I'm not on-the-fence, and I planned on watching anyway, the reviews can still be helpful. Take what I typed in the previous paragraph and apply it to now I'm setting my expectations for what I'm going to watch. If it's what I expect, fine. I got the heads up. If it's better than what I expected, that's a great thing. If it's worse than what I expected, well, it happens.
EDITED TO ADD: On the other hand, Pauline Kael gave Blade Runner -- my favorite movie -- a negative review in 1982, and she was one of the most respected reviewers of her time. So going by reviews can be helpful, but it's never an exact science.
No joke, I would watch the shit outta that episode. The plot is actually Bar Rescue coming in to save Georgiou’s joint.
I used to write for Dan at Warp Factor Trek. While I think the comparisons he's making are a little odd (especially comparing against The Acolyte), in my experience communicating with him online I don't think of him as a "hater" for the new stuff, and I trust he's giving an honest, albeit vague, review. And last I heard he lives in the British Isles, so it's very feasible that he could have made it to the UK preview. Not a full review, but a few days ago Robert Meyer Burnett re-posted some comments by Dan Leckie, editor and writer on warpfactortrek.com:
Of course he would, any chance to shit on new Star Trek for his twitter audience (unless he's given access).RMB would seem to be breaking some trust by sharing the screenshot publicly.
I tend not to hold one-off actors to knowing jack about Trek. Unless they claim to be a fan, and then I really judge their errors. The lady playing the Deltan referred to Persis Barata playing Ill-ya, and the new Garrett thinks TNG eps were 24 min long![]()
