I didn't like what I saw in the trailer and I can't stand mirror Georgiou, but I got a P+ subscription and will definitely watch it, like every new Trek since TNG.

My expectations are very low, so I might be pleasantly surprised by the movie. And if not and it's as bad as I'm afraid it will be, then all I will have lost are two hours of my time, but I at least know why I don't like it.

This also describes very well where I am with this. I’m very ready to be surprised by this, but from everything I’ve seen and heard so far I suspect this might be super schlocky. And if that’s the case then I hope at the very least it’s a “so bad it’s good” situation.

The positives so far are that I think the cast looks very interesting and I’m looking forward to learn more about each one of them. Especially Kacey Rohl, Sam Richardson and Miku Martineau as the young Georgiou. I’m a little concerned that it might be a little packed for a one-off movie, though. Looks more like the cast of a proper series, which might be a remnant of what this was originally going to be. But on the other hand, ensemble movies can work really well for certain genres, so maybe it’ll be perfect.

Either way, I’ll definitely be watching. :)

I'll watch it. My expectations are rock bottom, but sometimes that's good as the only way is up. Hopefully!

I considered it, but I actually understood the thread’s question as something directed at Discovery fans specifically, which would mean it might be right where it belongs. But I have no strong feelings one way or the other. So I’ll let @cultcross make that decision. :)
FWIW, as the OP I'd have put the poll here if this section already existed, so all good!

For what it’s worth, the plan right now is to eventually file this Section 31 forum as a subforum under Discovery. But at least for now when the movie comes out and a while after that we wanted to give it more visibility on the main page. But in the end it’ll probably be back with Discovery. :)

That would be ridiculous... but Star Trek: Picard should be :p

Poor Section 31, doomed to live in Discovery's shadow.

Well, nothing is set in stone, I guess. We’ll see what makes sense. There’s also an argument to be made for putting Section 31 with the other movies, although the prevalent thinking seems to be that it will be more akin to a TV movie, similar to say Voyager’s “Dark Frontier” (which aired on one night as a feature-length “special event movie”), and someone searching it might be more likely to look for it under Discovery. I think if they do actually end up making another streaming movie after this one (which would be pretty cool, but does not seem like a done deal right now) we should definitely start a new “Streaming Movies” forum and put it in there.

For what it's worth: The closer we get to Section 31, the more I look forward to it the same as I did with Discovery. That type of feeling is starting to kick in now. My mind reads S31 as "DSC". Just like my mind reads PIC as "TNG".

"Dark Frontier" technically was a TV Movie, but re-watching it made me feel like I was looking at a two-parter aired together. I feel like Section 31 will be more "movie-like" than "Dark Frontier". Conceptually, I think it'll be more like how "In Thy Image" was turned into TMP.

They could film 3 angry rats with little starfleet uniforms fighting inside a burning dumpster. I’d still watch it as long as they call it Star Trek: Rat Fights.

I have watched every single live-action Star Trek episode, including STD season 4, which brought great misery to my soul and heart.

Of course, I’m going to watch that utterly disappointing scam of a movie. I’ll watch it, and then I’ll drag it through the mud.

Sad and pathetic

I find hate watching odd.
How do you know they hate watch?
Personally, I prefer to think of it as hope watching.

But even if they do hate watch, is that reason enough to call them names?

Also, referring to 'DSC' as 'STD' is always sad and pathetic, as well as juvenile and puerile.
They posted an opinion about a show, so they deserve a personal attack?
