13% of people really still wait to hear what people will say? No making up your own minds? Why the cowardice?

I found it. I mean it's a $80-100 million movie depending on who you ask. Doesn't it fit under Paramount +banner?
It does but until it's an actual release, plus setting up moderators and posting rules, then the Future of us where it goes.

OTHER - It can't see myself subscribing for it. I'll be catching up on it when Strange New Worlds Season 3 starts - a show that's on for a near 3 month run. Assuming they don't keep it exclusive to streaming, I'll get Section 31 movie as a Blu ray release before then maybe? Lower Decks has had a quick 3 month turnaround onto physical media and I've yet to see Season 5 (despite amazing reviews), feeling even it can wait....

Frankly the entire TV Trek section of the board should be reorganized. We have one group organized by timeline, one grouped by production, and then another grouped by it's format. Either group them in production order or by timeline!

It's cowardly to gather information before making a decision?
Gathering information is one thing, but basing a decision on others opinions is another.

Yes, I'd look to see what others thought, but I'd watch it anyway...not rely on others opinions for actual viewing.

It's pretty normal to make decisions about what to watch based on other people's opinions -- I don't have time to watch literally every movie that gets made so I prioritize watching ones that I hear other people say are good, especially people I know I tend to agree with. I would guess I share this behavior with the majority of other movie-watching people on Earth.

Reviews will help me to decide if I want to watch something if I'm on the fence about it and it comes from reviewers I generally agree with. But it still works for me even if it's someone I never agree with: the more they hate it, they more I think I might like it. "They hate it, so it must be good!" "They liked it, so I want to avoid it like the plague!" It can work both ways.

But, if I'm not on-the-fence, and I planned on watching anyway, the reviews can still be helpful. Take what I typed in the previous paragraph and apply it to now I'm setting my expectations for what I'm going to watch. If it's what I expect, fine. I got the heads up. If it's better than what I expected, that's a great thing. If it's worse than what I expected, well, it happens.

EDITED TO ADD: On the other hand, Pauline Kael gave Blade Runner -- my favorite movie -- a negative review in 1982, and she was one of the most respected reviewers of her time. So going by reviews can be helpful, but it's never an exact science.

Discovery was assigned the 23rd Century at birth, but it identifies as the 32nd Century, so I go with the 32nd Century. ;)

Aside from, mathematically, more of the series took place there. Not to mention the USS Discovery and the Spore Drive are classified in the 23rd Century but out in the open in the 32nd.

I considered it, but I actually understood the thread’s question as something directed at Discovery fans specifically, which would mean it might be right where it belongs. But I have no strong feelings one way or the other. So I’ll let @cultcross make that decision. :)

I voted for "waiting for reviews".

Because I like Star Trek but I didnt like Disco, and I don't have time to watch everything. And I am not a big fan of S31, so if the reviews are great maybe I am going to watch it.
