Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

You notice that in "Mirror, Mirror," the Halkans were the same in both universes?

So were the Vulcans, up to a point - they had the same detached nature and devotion to logic, so not Romulans. But their ethics were different.

The MU started as a neat high-concept (not original) notion of an Earth with an alternative history that produced a fascist human empire instead of a democratic human civilization. The nature of the whole universe and every creature in it wasn't "flipped" in some binary fashion.

Then fans and eventually TV writers made it into something entirely stupid.

My argument is their are two really good mirror universe episodes in MIrror Mirror and first DS9 ones. Two fun cartoonist ones in the next two DS9 One fun one also from Enterprise in that two-parter. Then all boring or bad ones after that.

TOS and ENT Mirror Universe are peak MU for me, with "Crossover(DS9)" in fourth place and rapidly diminishing returns from that point on.

That's how I feel but I did like the two DS9 ones after that. Fun popcorn action stuff and lots of humor between Worf and Garak and Tuvok shows up and Kira gets more silly but still sexy. Even some emotional payoff with Jake seeing his mom who isn't his real mom.

I found the Worf/Garak business in the DS9 season 4 MU episode hilarious.

I love the part when Worf stabs him because he thinks he stole the key to his chains and the Klingon guard was like 'Um here it is, actually." or something to that effect.

I still don't know how Vic could be human in the mirror universe. Unless my head canon idea is true in that he is actually what Felix looks like. Felix being the guy who gave Bashir lots of his holo-programs. Perhaps he based VIc's looks on himself. In the mirror universe he even goes by VIc as in a nickname or alias.
