The episode reminded me of the Enterprise Episode The Expanse. Both episodes had our heroes being persued by Klingons while they were on a mission into a strange part of the galaxy. Probably just a coincidence…
I am hoping that Paramount will pull a FUTURAMA, and bring back the series as needed.9/10
They stuck the landing for the most part.
CONS: Carol giving the Klingons the shield freq's, trusting that fake Admiral message, the out of nowhere conflict between Tendi and T'Lynn, Rutherford acting totally out of character and all of a sudden hating the Cerritos, when did Mariner learn how to dam up a multiverse river?
PROs: Pretty much the rest. Seeing the alt ships and alt DISCO and proto-Klingons was fun. Freeman trusting her crew implicitly was a very good captain like thing finally! Starfleet admins were smart for a change and grasped the situation. The Enterprise-E cameo. SB80 redemption! "Engage the core!"
I am really bummed this is the end. LD was a great, fun, show. I also feel we are at the beginning of the end for P+. If they won't even support a relatively cheap to produce animated series where does that leave Trek in a year or so? I'd be surprised if SNW makes it past S4 and other than the Starfleet Academy series few seem excited for not much seems to be coming down the Trek pipeline.
Fanhome has been playing it safe compared to Eaglemoss.Quarks voice "May I, for very reasonable fee, introduce you to a company called Fanhome?"
I imagine that travel to other universes would come with very strict Prime Directive-like rules.I do also have some questions about Starfleet now being able to visit other realities willy-nilly, as it's not mentioned in any of the other series set after that time. I'm curious to see if "Prodigy" or any other series does anything with that.
It would probably be a good idea for the writers to include some technobabble reason why certain resources from other dimensions won't work in other ones, or put some other limits on multiverse travel. Otherwise death and stakes become pretty much meaningless.I imagine that travel to other universes would come with very strict Prime Directive-like rules.
Well, Great Bird willing, we will get some follow-up on this story down the line and I would imagine that concerns such as those would come up. However, I don't really think it was necessary to get into such details in the story being told in this episode. It would probably be a good idea for the writers to include some technobabble reason why certain resources from other dimensions won't work in other ones, or put some other limits on multiverse travel. I noticed that as well. Cerritos strong!I just noticed something, Boimler did some impressive flying right before the Cerritos had to enter the Schrodinger Field and Relga started firing on the Cerritos.
He used the Cerritos Shield to play "StarShip Bumper Cars" and forced one of the Small Bird of Preys to crash into the other when they got close.
Boimler literally downed 2x Bird of Preys w/o firing a single shot and using physics & Cerritos significantly larger mass to shove one Bird of Prey into another, effectively killing both.
That's brilliant opportunistic flying IMO. That's also reason why you don't fly so damn close to each other.
Then things like that can happen!
Not necessarily. Just because there are an infinite number of YOU, that not same as every last one is exactly like YOU (ie. the nurture versus nature versus personal choice trope). Also, as Daniels/Kovich (ENT/DISC) stated, prolonged exposure to a non-native timeline is hazardous to one's health. So this, besides a "dimension prime directive", will be the means of keeping those stakes "meaningful".It would probably be a good idea for the writers to include some technobabble reason why certain resources from other dimensions won't work in other ones, or put some other limits on multiverse travel. Otherwise death and stakes become pretty much meaningless.
I hope so, Mariner...
Nympho candle ghost guy is gonna be delighted when he finds himself in the middle of that room. The girts did seem very excited when the candle came on.I just loved this episode. The guy de- ascending, the candle ect.
I just wish at the start they would have used D7 because the scene made me think of the start of TMP.
I love it.It begins.
Damn you, McMahan!
Also... HUH. SB80's old enough that it actually has become relevant by literally being too dumb to know there should be a problem. So how's that going to work. Kassie being in charge of station operations and Carol in charge of the expeditionary fleet?
Was kinda hoping we'd get a resolution to the red pad, but it being relevant was good in driving the plot forward.
People are talking about why it’s not been mentioned in the 31st century.I am just curious how they'II explain that they didn't use this rift to bring help in Prodigy and Picard.
Star Trek: AmidshipsI propose a follow-up series, Other Decks, travelling through the multiverse and showing us all the alternate realities we haven't even glimpsed.
