I think that's probably too dark for the ending of LD, but I think this is a really interesting idea. From what I can tell, S5 takes place in 2382 and the supernova occurs in 2387, with Starfleet having known well in advance it was coming. The timeline does line up well if they wanted to do this.
I wish I'd remembered all this when I started writing my fic.

*shrug*
Multiverse.

Spelling ain't your thing, is it?
Let’s be a little more respectful with one another, shall we? Stuff like this is unnecessary. There’s multiple reasons for why someone might have a typo in their post, none of which warrant mocking them for it here.

As for the episode: I loved this! Definitely a high point not only for the season, but for the show as a whole. Bringing back T’Pol, Garak and Bashir is one thing — and I can’t believe they actually did that —, but actually creating funny, emotional and meaningful stories around them is quite the achievement.

That said, I wouldn’t mind if the finale manages to focus on our five main Lower Deckers without having to resort to any stunt casting.

This was a huge improvement since they last episode, I wish the last episode had a peanut jammer update, but noooooo

Semi off-topic: certain fans keep complaining Picard S03 was memberberries overload, I'll say LD in its entire run has been memberberries tachyon rift.
Some members here are incredibly subjective and hold various NuTrek projects to wildly differing standards.
I have never heard anyone* defend PIC2. It's generally held to be one of the worst seasons of Trek ever.
*Obviously anyone doesn't literally mean everyone.
Haha, well... I'd argue that PS2 not only is better than PS1, but it's better than any season of DISCOVERY, and the episodes of SNW I did watch before dropping the later series. But that would probably go too off topic. PRODIGY and STLD are better at least!
In what may well be the most self-referential episode in “Star Trek” history, “Fissure Quest” features a slew of returning cast members from across the franchise universe as alternate members of Boimler’s crew: T’Pol from “Enterprise,” Harry Kim from “Voyager,” Lily Sloane from “First Contact” and most notably, Bashir and Garak from “Deep Space Nine.”
Meanwhile the pseudo-shipping of Garak and Bashir made Variety.

The irony...

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Even wrong ones like this.

I wonder what universe William has been left in and whom might turn up to get them back to their own realities?

Q? Trelane? Alt Shatner Kirk? Alt Sisko?

Loved the visualization of the universes as bubbles. I always imagined it that way based on that multiverse theory that captures the cold spots in the CMB.

BTW, was I wrong, or did William Boimler stare at alt-Mariner romantically for like a second?

I've detected zero sexual tension between Boimler and Mariner. But it's possible that he had an early crush on her that he hadn't worked through by the time of their transporter accident.

Would make another parallel between the Boimler clones and Riker ones.

Hmm... my thoughts. After several decades, they finally got T'Pol's outfit right. Garashir FINALLY gets a moment in the sun. We meet Curzon, though his fate was weaker than the rest... I think they should have saved the slug.

Clever way of bringing Garrett Wang back without revealing Harry's fate in the canonical universe. This backs my theory that there are fans who are fiercely devoted to him being stuck at ensign forever and others who are still upset that he wasn't promoted. To address this, the showrunners have gone with the Schrödinger's Cat solution: keep the metaphorical box shut, and he's promoted and not promoted at the same time. It's probably also why they eliminated him from S3 of Picard.

The difference is Lower Decks still manages to deliver something new with its fanwank and memberberries. It presents the nostalgia as simply an appetizer for the main course of the meal. Picard S3 was strictly a meal consisting entirely of appetizers. Or, to put it more succinctly, Lower Decks is a tasteful wank, Picard S3 was a tasteless wank.

That poster hasn't posted since February according to their profile, so don't expect a reply.

A lot to unpack there. First, it isn't Hobus anymore, Picard S1 established it was the star in the Romulus system that went nova, and second, it's been known the star would go nova since 2381, while this show is currently in 2382, I think, At the very least, the season 3 finale referenced Picard as being an Admiral, which we know from the Picard series that he was promoted specifically in response to the news the Romulus star would go nova in order to head up the evacuation effort.

So no, this is not going to be the cause of the Romulan supernova. At all.

Spelling ain't your thing, is it? Or did you actually intend to say with the finale caused Enterprise to transform into an abdomen? Odd comment if so.
It’s called a typo.

I'm wondering why they didn't save Dax.... They had the facilities even if they had to like.. .detour into a neighboring universe and make a point of getting a trill to play host (cue some universe's Ezri getting the dax symbiote alongside jadzia)

Or. Comedy option. Oh hey one of the kims is a trill.
Read out said the symbiont was critical.

Oh, Two Pip Kim is Prime Kim. :p

Having just watched the episode, I'm afraid I have to be the sole naysayer about it. There was so much pointless fanwank going on (even for Lower Decks) that most of the story was just lost on me. They get Jolene Blalock, Andrew Robinson, Alexander Siddig, Garrett Wang and even Alfre Woodard (like, who was ever expecting her to make a comeback?) all together for voiceovers, and they make a story about their alternate universe counterparts instead of their prime universe characters, as crewmembers on a Section 31 ship. To me, that was a complete waste of those characters and the people who portray them. Yeah, it was nice to hear their voices again, but this could have been done so much better. I'm sure all those people were delighted to work on the show, and I'm not faulting them for having some fun. But with all that talent available, even I could have thought up a better story to utilize them for. But then I'm not an LDS writer.

The other annoying aspect to this show lately is the extreme amount of f-bombs and s-bombs. Even with bleeps, this is not funny. This is not humor. And the writers who think this is how humor works really need to take some writing courses.

I will say this, though: The one particularly bright spot in the episode was William Boimler. He consistently showed himself to be a good commanding officer while at the same time showing his frustrations about the task he's been given. He certainly acted far better than Brad Boimler has acted all season. To be blunt, they've made Brad into a complete idiot. William is clearly the better individual, although I doubt that that was meant to be the writers' intentions. And if it was, then Brad's character has been pretty much screwed for the rest of the show. But we'll see how that gets resolved in a week.

WOW. This went to 11!

I avoided spoilers, so when I saw T'Pol, I went, "Holy sh%t! Did they actually get Jolene?" It was great to see a version of Curzon. And So Many Kims! But the real joy for this 9er was seeing Bashir and Garak. And married! I could almost hear the "squeeeeeeeeeeees!"

Just wonderful. So much fun!
