So where is the line between taking bold risks and being stupid? I get what you are saying and there is a lot of it that I agree with, but my whole thing is one thing shouldn't shape your entire life. Why couldn't he avoid the fight but show another instance of being bold, like taking over the Stargazer? I guess I just didn't like the episode implying that because you made a choice at one point in your life, that would lead to making similar choices in other parts of your life. Life is full of choices, sometimes you make dumb ones and sometimes you make great ones. You just hope the great ones outweigh the bad ones.
When you're young, critical decisions at key juncture points have a way of setting a "Domino Effect" down the line of your own life.

If a person acts a certain way, they aren't likely to change their behavior as they get older.

It takes ALOT of effort to change the way you behave at a fundamental level as you get more mature & set in your ways.

That can be good / bad depending on the circumstances.

In this case, it was bad for JLP.

Q already explained what happened to that version of JLP.

You don't have to like it, but it's likely to happen to some folks.

But Tapestry implied that because Picard avoided getting stabbed, he would go on to be mediocre, almost like the reason why he was captain in the first place was because of him being stabbed. I get the point of it being a point in time reveals a tapestry unfurled, but I wish the episode had included that point and they really didn't. It basically said that that moment was so important in Picard's life that he was always going to be that way and there was no room for change.

Tapestry was an episode long reflection on Kirk's speech from Star Trek V: "Dammit, Bones, you're a doctor. You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with the wave of a magic wand. They're things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. ...If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away. I need my pain." If Jim Kirk hadn't witnessed Kodos's reign of terror, if he hadn't survived the massacre of the Farragut's crew, he would not have become the legendary Captain James T. Kirk. Those experiences made him who he was.

So too with Picard in his fight with the Nausicaans. The Picard who walked away became more risk averse, and that aversion prevented him from developing the personality of a great captain.

(This is, incidentally, why I loathe the first JJ movie with it's easy assurance that Jim Kirk was simply destined to be a great captain, even in a universe where he was raised by a different father, never lived on Tarsus IV, and became captain without ever serving on the Farragut.)

Also I lied about it not being about a character getting fixated on an idea and doing something dumb, as Harry Kim nearly destroyed the entire multiverse because he was annoyed that other Kims hadn't been promoted yet. I mean, wtf? I gave Disco crap for its absurd multiverse-threatening story, so I'm afraid that I'll have to deduct points from Lower Decks as well.
A fellow 7... way too meta, and yeah having it be that easy to destroy the multiverse means it would have happened already considering infinite possibilities (also looking at you DISCOVERY with the Disco-Mirror mycelial network pandora's box). Hopefully both are just cases of excess doom unreliable narrators.

At least it was a fun episodes, and not boring. Season 5 is now up to four good episodes in my book. If the finale sticks the landing, the season will at least come in 50/50.

They beamed the info to the Prime Universe so the Lower Deckers could save the multiverse from destruction was my take.

I thought that’s why they put the (sioinc??)beam to combined all the multiverses into one prime universe, then it said to be continued

No. They simply channeled the entire THREAT to Prime Universe so that only that universe is in danger, instead of the whole multiverse.

They didn't combine the universes, and the entire multiverse is no longer in the danger.

10/10. If this is what they’ve done NOT really knowing for sure this was the final season….what would they have done if they had.

Very rad for “Jolene” to reprise T’Pol after all these years. Same for Robinson, Woodard and Siddig. I wonder if they went with Curzon because Farrell or deBoer said no.

The Garak/Bashir shippers must be in heaven.

Loved how increasingly annoyed Lt. Kim kept getting until he snapped.

Random guess…they are gonna pay off the “most important person in Starfleet history…Miles O’Brien” line in the finale and have him help our guys save the day.

Although, part of me does kinda hope we don’t get any more super special guests for the finale and it’s just our guys fixing the problem and saving the day.

Very random but this reminds me of the penultimate episode of STARGATE ATLANTIS ("Vegas"), which also followed a threat originating from an alt-reality causing problems for the mainline universe.

T'Pol would be 293 years old (2088-2381), so she's not particularly plausible on the surface either.

I'm assuming either time travel or universes where the whole universe kicked off later or slower, maybe due to different planet/galactic rotation/universe expansion speeds creating a relativistic time dilation relative to our universe.

I think Sliders had an episode where they saw Quinn as a kid due to the Earth having a slightly different rotational speed in that universe. Same principle.
Yeah, it's the same with Lily's universe I imagine. She'd be long dead in the Prime timelime, unless she was the one who encountered the Companion in Metamorphosis

You guys think they'll make this the event that causes the Hobus supernova? Or is that too dark for LD?
