Someone definitely put it in a "bottle". Probably to protect it from the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire. I assume that little mystery will be address in future episodes. It seems like the Jedi prior to ANH, At Attin has fallen into myth and legend.

I don't think the Spielbergian Suburb means At Attin is Earth. We've seen Earth like worlds before, just not "American suburbs". Not every planet has to be world cities like Coruscant or frontier towns like Tatooine. Yeah, it's supposed to invoke the 80s nostalgia of ET, Goonies and the like. But that ties in with the idyllic pre-Empire existence.

Some the deep cuts went over my head because I might be closer to casual on the Star Wars fandom scale. I did smile at things like tassels on the handle bar of Wim's speeder bike ,because that evokes my own childhood.

Watched ScreenCrush. He only reviewed part 1 so it was interesting to hear him act as if he didn't know anything past episode 1 so assumes At Attan is a known Outer Rim planet and part of the New Republic. I'm looking forward to his review of part 2 where the mystery is revealed.

I like the barrier idea. I had an idea for an ultra secure prison planet whose location was intentionally removed (and forgotten about) from all records during the days of the High Republic similar to how Camino was removed. I like this barrier idea better. It will be interesting to learn why/how At Attan's location was forgotten.

I've seen a couple sites claim that Hondo Ohnaka's ship from Galaxy's Edge was at the pirate port. Having no idea what Hondo's ship at Galaxy's Edge looks like, I have no way to confirm or deny this.

That was really quite nice. I kept thinking about how I would've loved to find a spaceship buried in my childhood garden.

These characters are really quite well done for the most part, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds with Jude Law's character. I'm thinking he's going to be ok in the end, buy initially very sketchy.

I noticed her wearing it on the ship before they left, but, yeah, it was weird they didn't specifically show her picking it up and putting it on.

I caught the 1st episode. Much better than I anticipated. I thought it was going to be too cutsey. But really great so far. And the kids were way better than the pirates. I was iffy at first. I thought the opening pirates was bit overdone, and then we went into Star Wars suburbia which had me wondering, but it all changed. The kid aliens were done really well and not cringe worthy at all.

I got a theory about At Attin that might be crazy. My theory is the planet is Earth. Which is why it looks so much like Earth. We have never seen Earth in SW and maybe they are finally going to show us after all of these years. Besides the Earth look I noticed one of characters called another character, a jerk. A very human term not used in SW before.

This is off to a very good start. Enjoyable actors, terrific world-building (especially the pirate port.). It answered my biggest problem with the premise - how could you possibly be "lost" in Star Wars? Just find the nearest map and point your ship towards home.

The fact that At Attin is a mysterious, sequestered world answers that question handily while also providing some nice additional layers of mystery. And it addresses another issue I had in the first episode, which is why does every show go out of their way to depict the New Republic in a shitty light? Oh, At Attin is probably not actually part of the New Republic. Cool.

Well that was fun and enjoyable as expected! Still not wild about the weird episode lengths, but that's been true since Mando season one.

Caught a few easter-eggs and plenty of overt references. The Holiday Special hologram and the study model version of the Falcon (the one before they "finalised" the design to what ultimately became the blockade runner) rather leapt out at me more than most.

I really liked the holo-book stories, both as an aesthetic choice and as a world-building tool.
Did the best I could to translated them, though some of it was so illegible I had to infer more than translate, and I'm not convinced I got the name or the forest correct.

Note the last three were totally illegible, so I can't be sure if they're a separate tale, or missing pages from the other three. Druin's tale certainly seems to be missing both a beginning and an end, while Lina's is obviously lacking a climax.
