Never, that's why it's baffling that so many online are super serious all the time.
Yeah, it’s almost as baffling as people online who can’t admit when they’re wrong.

Because I wasn’t.Yeah, it’s almost as baffling as people online who can’t admit when they’re wrong.
Because I wasn’t.
Cope and seethe.
You're welcome! Happy Thanksgiving!Thank you for that response. That's all I needed to hear.![]()
Maybe. The studio, streamer, producers, I feel like someone realized they might have trouble bringing the Trekkies over to Starfleet Academy, mostly aimed at the Discovery audience. I feel like Robert Picardo was brought it to be like, "Look, don't you want to see Picardo as the Doctor from Voyager? Come watch out show, come see Picardo!"I'm gonna be honest, I have no desire to see Star Trek reduced to a college show, but I'll tune in to watch Picardo.

Who saysa Picardo's playing one Doctor in this series?I'm hoping they touch on the "Living Witness" Doctor. I wouldn't be surprised if he's somehow integrated into the original Voyager Doctor's program.
Same here!!Not me, I was actually going to pass on the show - until Picardo's involvement was announced.![]()
Star Trek has been skirting Soap Opera since TNGdoes anyone thing this series will be watchable? It all depends on who they are targeting, having the Doctor on the series is a gratuitous move to lure in people. I wouldn't expect that his presence is anything more than a momentary cameo.
This series, depending on who the writers and producers are, could be a soap opera, and probably might be. The preview is (to me at least) is not promising, as I recall a starfleet academy series was being discussed around the time Voyager was at full speed, THAT was the time to do it, not now where it will be (yet another) paint by the numbers series...
Starfleet Academy was originally going to be a movie made for 1991, with re-cast Kirk, Spock and McCoy as cadets, and a framing story told by DeForest Kelley's McCoy. But the OG actors, not wanting to be replaced, called it "Police Academy in space" (which it was not) and turned fans against the concept.does anyone thing this series will be watchable? If you liked Buffy and Smallville, you'll probably like this modern Starfleet Academy. It isn't aimed at die-hard TOS and TNG fans.

Jonathan Frakes Says New 'Star Trek' Series Is For Hardco...
The upcoming "Star Trek" series is aimed at hardcore Star Trek fans according to Jonathan Frakes.www.newsweek.com
And I'm sure that internet rando has a better grasp of what the show is than someone who has actually worked on it.And Benedict Cumberbatch isn't playing Khan
Although I would imagine they consider all the references as making it for the hardcores rather than the broader content and style.
