As somebody that really enjoyed the first two Deadpool movies, what made Deadpool and Wolverine special for me wasn't just because of Wolverine but because of how it called back to the Marvel movies of when I was a kid and teenager and in college (although I didn't see Blade until after the first X-Men movie, given its rating) and made a point of integrating some of those characters into its story and closing them out.
And just like the first two Deadpool movies using absurd humor and ridiculous hijinks to counterpoint deep, deep pain.
