Spoilers The Acolyte

I don’t want it to be over. I don’t want this thread to be over. And why is it over? Why are we limited to eight episodes? Because it costs $22.5M per episode.

Star Wars needs to find its Harve Bennett and Nick Meyer. Wrath of Khan was made for $12M. Great storytelling doesn’t have to break the bank. Find people who can produce on a budget and they can produce a lot more content.

This series has the worst user rating than even the Star Wars Holiday Special. A hard pass for me.
Based on more reviews in the last 2 months than the Mandalorian has had over three seasons, with a large percentage of them being "1s". That doesn't seem even the little slightest bit suspicious to you? Obvious review-bombing is obvious.

ETA: A basic rule of thumb when it comes to review bombing is to eliminate all of the "one" votes and aggregate the percentage from what's left.

I tend to take things like Rotten Tomatoes Freshness ratings with a gigantic, Death Star-sized pinch of salt. Sure, the audiences might be right. But they might also be really bad at the whole judging good and bad thing. So....yeah.
Review bombers tend not to have witnessed the product at all, so by definition a review-bombed score isn't a reflection of how the participating users have judged the experience of watching the product at all.

That's not even getting into the fact that RT etc. audience scores aren't scientific polls, specifically of how the actual audience actually feels about the product. These audience scores are ultimately only a reflection of how the self-selected participants have elected to score it, period.

Well, for me there is no good or bad, or right or wrong with an artistic work / entertainment product like "The Acolytes". Because at the end, it is the taste of the people who watch it matter more than anything else. If the audience like it, they will spend a lot of dollar from it, including the merchandise and action figures. But if they hate it, then there you get it. A complain, a review bomb, etc.

The other thing that matter with the product like movie industry is who have more masses in both side. The people who like it, or who hate it. Because at the end, it is the audience money that they want to get.

We just saw episode 8. It was ok, we were really disappointed that Sol was killed, he was the most interesting character in my opinion. And that he would be killed was very predictable. We suspected early on that every main character Jedi would be killed. The twins are the least interesting characters so we are disappointed that they survived.

Well the viewership of the show went down a lot from episode 1 to the last one so it looks like Disney will cancel it. The Show is just terrible.

I think I must be the only person who didn't care one way or the other that Sol died. I was far more interested Osha and Mae (and Jekki before she died...).

I do know most Star Wars fan decided to ignore the series by the time the last episode was streamed.
How do you define most?

Rarely to people state their intentions online. If they enjoy something they'll watch it and move on.

Regardless, I would not decide my opinion on a show before watching it.
