loved it! giving it an 8 only because no T'Lynn or mention of Nog.

My takeways:
Ferengi Cop shows! I feel ya, Boims!
Rom & Leeta!
Rom still loves baseball!
Mariner is going through some stuff
Mariner's Ferengi buddy is back!
More insight into mystery Mirror unjiverse agonizer ship.
Star Trek Experience reference!
Tendi + Rutherford???
Freeman can negotiate!
USS Toronto is nice
There's a drink called "Dagger of the Mind!"
Dave Foley was a guest voice this week as well!

Anyone else have now have the mental image of Topless Tendi in Rutherford's gym shorts in their head now? Can we get some fan art people in on this?
Usually the image is a girl wearing the guy’s shirt and nothing else.

Yeah, the way it was said so casually made it sound like it was the norm.

Cut to Picard and the Genesis II device is under lockup in the Section 31 facility.

Its possible the Genesis device was under lockup in Section 31 facility because a second one was made (based on the specs from the first one).
Perhaps S31 (or someone) managed to work out the kinks from it to create a portable version which didn't use proto-matter (although we don't know conclusively if that's what caused the original planet to destroy itself - after all, the thing was formed from a nebula which didn't really have enough density to form a planet [so are we really surprised the planet ended up unstable and had a short lifespan?] - proto-matter was speculated to be the issue but was never confirmed - maybe its a necessary component of the genesis device without which it can't work) and it went into practical use - and S31 kept the second 'original' for reference.
Remember they also had Picard's and Kirk's bodies stored there.
Its possible they like to keep 'Version 1' of things in cold storage for analysis etc. (I wonder if they have the original Slipstream V1 mods stored there too that did not require Benemite crystals).

Or, the Ferengi were wrong, or the Genesis device we saw in Pic S3 is the same one on the Ferengi ship (perhaps it wasn't destroyed with the rest of the ship - maybe the unknown ship retrieved it).

Tendi and Rutherford do have a thing.. but both of them are probably of the mind of.. If we progress, we might lose what we have so both are set in granite of just being freinds.. BUT.. Nothing wrong with being a best freind with the opisite sex without romance or sex getting involved. Had a few female freinds that were Zero romance, but best buds..

Huh, they updated the Parlement class model, used to have the 3 deck lights on the rim, now it doesnt.

I really enjoyed the episode, but I’m not a fan of Ferenginar joining the Federation

I love that the second Parliament-class ship we see is the Toronto. I'm curious if future Parliament-class ships will also be from Canada or other countries that were part of the British Commonwealth/Empire.

Portable Genesis Device?
The technology seems to have been released into use considering the dialogue 'they use them to terraform planets'.
Interesting.

Good episode. Mariner still seems to have some 'demons' to work through though.
Or the technology leaked and other people are using it.

I'm following my "At least read the last two pages rule" when suddenly I went all cold and shaky: I just enjoyed a Ferengi episode. A LOT.

Also: Ferenginar joins the Federation. CANON, baby! Rom should go down in history as the greatest disruptor in the history of the Alpha Quadrant, for good or for ill.

Loved the episode. Not my favorite but probably one of the best episodes across the board. Not the highest highs but the most consistent.

Rutherford and Tendi were every moment of adorable that they should be. For the shippers this episode had to be a roller coaster.

Boims and Mariner had awesome b-plots. And Ransom is growing on me!

Rom and Leela are running the world and playing everyone like a fiddle. The happiest ending! And alllll the baseball. Good for you, Max. I might need to go watch Take Me Out to the Holosuite just 'cause.

FIVE STARS for Captain Freeman!

I MISS THE VEGAS STAR TREK EXPERIENCE! WHAAAAAA! ("Ensign Thomas! Get those people down to shuttle bay 2!")

My kids were disappointed when they blew up the Ferengi ship at the beginning and they DIDN'T show the wreckage and the society's logo. So I pointed out the Ferengi logo when it did show up.

or mention of Nog.
RIGHT?!?

Or the technology leaked and other people are using it.
It's a FAAAAAAAKE!

The uneven start of season 4 worried me. However, it's really been in these last couple episodes that the story has been consistently good throughout without any of the individual plots falling with a thud. I loved this episode, and it got a few loud laughs out of me. Tendi & Rutherford adorkably fumbling their way through their assignment was great, and I'm hoping the writers continue building their relationship. Rom and Leeta were great. Mariner's turning into a rebel without a cause totally fits her. Boimler succumbing to the lure of television had the perfect little button at the end on it.

Rom and Leeta seemed “off” to me. Leeta came off as more mean and ruthless and it felt like they Homer Simpsoned Rom (made him dumber than he was when last we saw him just for the sake of comedy). This would have been easily fixable with one line saying that that two were putting on a public performance for their critics but behind closed doors they were still the couple we knew from when their series ended.

That being said I liked the rest of the episode.

Pretty fun episode. This season has been great.

loved that Slugo Cola helmet and Ferengi TV shows. The Rutherford/Tendi subplot was sweet. I loved how they got out of the last part of it.

The Ferengi at least starting the process of joining the Federation feels like a Rom thing to do. Quark must be livid.

the Moab IV deep pull was great. The Masterpiece Society is a good episode.

give this one an 8/10

So now we’ve seen the Lower Deckers for Starfleet, the Vulcans, Romulans, Klingons, Borg, Orions and Ferengi. Who’s left, Cardassians, Breen, Tholians maybe.
