That's stretching it. If the adult gorns look like xenomorphs its a definite canon violation. I don't expect them to look like rubber suits but I would like to a upright lizard man.

There is no such thing as a "canon violation." It's a tired term that ought to be buried in some unmarked grave on a world no one visits.
There is contradictory canon. When a new event in official continuity - any onscreen instance of Star Trek produced by the IP holder - contradicts an earlier event, that's all it is: a contradiction. Both of the events shown are fully in canon.
If they change continuity explicitly, they're changing continuity. But they're still adding to canon, not "violating" it.

I agree with this sort idea. I like it when SNW demonstrates that it knows its source material, but doesn't feel excessively bound to it. It's so much more fun to go along with SNW telling a Star Trek story without having my mental Memory Alpha butting in every five minutes.
The Arena Gorn are actually androids created by Harry Mudd to swindle people who had never seen a Gorn before, only they accidentally ended up wiping out the real Gorn through a series of misadventures and hijinks.
Nah it's a violation if they completely change something.

They were forehead aliens who changed into makeup dot aliens with out explanation.
Was it just a bump on the forehead or something small like that? Something bigger like becoming giant pointy eared zenomorphs?

The "size" of the change is irrelevant. There was a change.
Going from a clothed upright humanoid to a zenomorph monster is a big change. If they don't at least make adult gorns look like humanoid lizard men that walk on two legs and are muscular with green reptile skin it's too much of a change to be able to look the other way. If they make them closer to the xenomorphs from the alien movies it's a big canon violation and no longer fits. Since they have their own space ships I believe we will be seeing humanoid shaped adult gorn and some here might be disappointed but I'll be happy.
