It was a joke. Someone, might have been Goldsman, said it was the longest turn around between pilot and series, ever. (also a joke). Of course it spun out of DISCO and Mount's performance.
Thanks, I was starting to come down with a virus last night and had a wicked headache. My sense of humor was sulking in a dark corner and wouldn’t come out.

I'm not sure I've ever been involved in a forum before where random tangents develop from threads in as much frequency as they do on trek bbs.

T'Pring's father is so whipped. He doesn't even have the balls of a dad from a sitcom. What a total wuss.

Something tells me that when Amanda went through that ceremonial dinner with Sarek's parents, it didn't go that badly. I'm sure Skon and T'Rama weren't total dicks to her!

As much of a spineless houseplant as Sevet was, I loved how interested in (the game of) charades he was. I woulda loved to see them actually playing it.

And I'm sticking with my suspicion that when Amanda went through that thing with Sarek's parents, they didn't treat her like dogshit. The whole thing was T'Pril's fault, since she was so openly disrespectful and rude. Sarek's parents surely wouldn't have been like that.

I did love that one line Amanda had when she said it's not easy for a human who loves a Vulcan. Clearly implying that even with all the baggage going on between Sarek and Spock, Amanda still loves Sarek even in spite of it all.

It's also a caution. I think that, since coming aboard, Amanda has been watching Spock and Christine with a mother's eye.

Maybe, maybe not. We have no reason to assume one way or the other. Amanda clearly is stubborn and capable of handling uncomfortable topics so she might have navigated it a different way and impressed Sarek's parents.

IDK - In their eyes, going from a Vulcan Princess to a full-blooded Human (See STV:TFF  ) may noty have sat well with them.

Sybok's mother was probably as much of an outcast and heretic as he himself would be. So Sarek's parents must have been all too willing to forget he ever met the woman.
