AI helped control the crewless drone ship during the "Babel" story arc in ENT. The Romulans definitely didn't have a problem with the technology right before or during the Earth-Romulan War and the birth of the Federation.

so? They might no longer care say by the 26th century.

Also, “AI” is a very broad concept, I doubt they’d be worried about the kind of AI we have today for example.
The admonition is an intelligence test that can only be taken by AI... I think the wiki said a "Synthetic Brain" but that definition is way too narrow. It's a series of instructions to contact the extra dimensional AI, that can only be done if you (an AI) has passed a particular sociological intellectual technological threshold.

It's the Prime Directive, but for AI, from AI.

You can't join us, until you are "this" smart.
...
As for "Caring"?

Very Immortal, and they forget nothing.

They care forever.

Although the Kaylon learnt how to trust fleshies again, after some issues during their origin.

La'an tells us that she knows a secret about the past that few know. Hmmmmm. We all know that history is written by the victors don't we? Can't wait to hear that secret.

But I think it's dumb to work around their lead being gone for two of the first three episodes instead of pushing the start of shooting back a bit more. I'm sure the other actors would've appreciated the extra time, as from what I understand SNW went right into shooting S2 after they finished S1.

I think you're confusing PIC S2 & S3 with SNW S1 & S2. From what I understand, there was a lengthy hiatus between the filming of S1 and S2. During that hiatus, actor Melissa Navia's partner tragically died, and she has spoken publicly about being worried about her ability to embody Ortegas properly in S2 as a result.

For a show that's a prequel to the TOS era? Nope, that's not what I want at all, because that's not true to the era. Pike, Number One, and Spock are the leads, and the others are supporting characters.

Well, that's too bad, because that's not how SNW is structured at all. It's structured like TNG, DS9, et al -- an ensemble show behind the lead character. La'an, Christine, Joseph, Erica, and Nyota are as much the main characters as Chris, Una, and Spock. That's why S1 didn't "focus on the supporting characters once in a while" -- fully half of S1 episodes are either primarily about characters other than Chris, Una, and Spock, or are true ensemble episodes. TOS never used that kind of structure -- there were no Hikaru episodes, no Nyota episodes, no Scotty or Pavel episodes.

At this point Star Trek continuity makes Star Wars continuity look comparatively tidy and robust.

Well it's fully 13 years younger (if you count from the production of "The Cage") and has far fewer installments to keep track of!

Principle filming of season 1 finished July 2021, with some additional filming done in October 2021.

Season 2 filmed from February 2022 to July 2022.

Season 3 was to start filming this month, but the WGA strike delayed it.
