Well, as we all know sentient species and space going societies are uniform. As Kirk would say about humans, "we have no need for gods. We find the one sufficient. " and as everyone knows humanity only has one god.

Oh God, the brisk walking on TNG during emergency situations drove me NUTS. When Kirk was headed to engineering when the ship was minutes away from blowing up, the dude fucking RAN. The TNG crew did the brisk walking thing constantly.
If I ever got the chance to write for Lower Decks, I'd LOVE to make a joke about that.

"...Why are we walking? The ship's about to blow up! Let's RUN!!!"
Already done in S1E2 IIRC. It's to conserve energy, Section 31 does this.

So maybe delay shooting your new season until your lead actor is actually available?

Because if Mount is in this little of the season, that's going to be massively disappointing. He's a good 50% of why I'm watching the show.
Such schedules are rarely that flexible. He made a request for a couple of weeks, and he got it. It's supposedly an ensemble piece, supposedly what fans want as demonstrated by TNG reunion fest 3.0. So, for three weeks other characters get a focus and then Pike is back in it.

Or he's not and Kirk is the new lead. Neither would surprise me one way or the other.

And that's fine. I don't begrudge Mount taking time to be with his new child in the least. But I think it's dumb to work around their lead being gone for two of the first three episodes instead of pushing the start of shooting back a bit more. I'm sure the other actors would've appreciated the extra time, as from what I understand SNW went right into shooting S2 after they finished S1.

For a show that's a prequel to the TOS era? Nope, that's not what I want at all, because that's not true to the era. Pike, Number One, and Spock are the leads, and the others are supporting characters. (I'm not saying that you can't focus on the supporting characters once in a while, of course, but Pike's absence was VERY noticeable in episodes 1 and 3.)

I hope you're right. Mount's performance is a BIG part of what makes SNW great.

With only ten episodes once in a while is like 3 episodes.

And regardless of era Star Trek is now treated as a ensemble piece.

Maybe or it impacts their ability to take other work so it creates schedule conflicts. If they didn't already have other obligations.

We know Pike is aces.

It's nice to learn the rest of the crew's names.

Loved it. I haven't read any of the posts but I am sure there are those who are outraged about Eugenic Wars time change and I understand that. The Star Trek timeline doesn't have to match ours. But I also understand the desire to make it match as much as possible. This change is something that would have bothered me in the past but I have mellowed in my old age and just want to be entertained. So I liked the episode a lot.

I am definitely warming up to the new Kirk.

Kirk going back for an extra hog dog was hilarious.

Her ovaries are cursed.

Jim Kirk was the First man to not look at her like she is unclean.

Would you date a great grand child of Mussolini?

Would you marry a great grand child of Mussolini, and take their name?

Would you make babies with a great grand child of Mussolini and give your babies the surname Mussolini?
ask Alessandro Romano: he married Benito’s great-granddaughter (on the anniversary of the Marcia su Roma, a coincidence no doubt!) and their three children kept the Mussolini name.

People online have pointed out that Sera's revelation that the Romulans are using advanced AI to do their time travel math for them contradicts Picard's reveal that they hate AI and don't use it
These could be romulans from another period and/or a different group of romulans.

The warning of the 8 fold stars, the admonition, happened 200 to 300 thousand years ago. The Romulans noticed it several hundred years ago.

so? They might no longer care say by the 26th century.

Also, “AI” is a very broad concept, I doubt they’d be worried about the kind of AI we have today for example.
