Just found out that Star Trek Online actually did a 'pre-evolved' 2250s Excelsior skin, the Repulse class, with Crossfield-style nacelles and hull colour. Pity it doesn't fit the current goals of SNW.

Finally! A way to make the Excelsior appealing! The original Excelsior is, to my mind, one of the best starship classes ever in terms of aesthetics, and you mess with it at your peril. They got it wrong even with the modest modifications they made for the Enterprise-B. Only the Excelsior-II from PIC S2 and S3 qualifies as a worthy update. The Repulse from STO is gross.
I don't understand. Are people saying this is what the Excelsior should look like if it ever shows up in the 21st century shows ?

No, I am saying I would like a new show to use the Repulse class as an earlier forerunner of the Excelsior class prior to the first Excelsior's debut circa 2285. Like how TNG introduced the Ambassador class as a kind of pre-evolution of the Galaxy class from decades prior to 2364. Or like how PIC adopted STO's Pathfinder class in 2401 as an evolution of the Intrepid class from decades after VOY in 2378.
No. Just that I like the design. Possible precursor to the Excelsior or an offshoot design in another series.
It just looks nice.
They were inspired by Discovery ships with those details. It's meant to be a Discovery Era Excelsior.
Also I can't think of any STO original ships with Cuts/holes in the saucer that weren't there because they were there in the show.
Only thing I dislike on the Repulse is the glowy blue line.
Oh, dear, I hadn't seen it from below before. The top views were great, but that secondary hull is... wow. I'm not sure what I would've done to Discofy that part of the ship, but probably not that.

Right that's a bit confusing as a number of people seem to have said it was STO.
It is a STO design, it's just based off the Discovery era aesthetic.
The Atlas was the their version of the Federation Class, a TOS Era dreadnaught since they can't legally use the Federation Class.
I think it's pretty funny the Pike's party-quarters are immediately next to the main lounge of the ship. If they'd put them starboard instead of port, you could imagine he could retract the wall and take over the entire forward mess and invite the entire crew to dinner. I suppose he still could, but guests would have to cut through his bedroom.

Walker Class spotted in Ortegas' quarters. Her Connie model is still DSC Season 2 style
they're physically identical, so there's really no way. especially from behind.
Hope the walls aren't too thin. People in the lounge would always know when Captain Batel is staying over.
Once she beamed aboard, that would be pretty obvious.
