The genesis of that set's design in the TOS briefing room is more obvious in that shot than in many.I do love that we are seemingly getting group cast photos again! They look great.
Right down to the flying buttress-like arches that line the walls. The purplish mood lighting just leans right into the TOS sets and I love it.
Isn't the flying buttress Kirk's signature move?
Only if the Bell Tower gets used as the main method of fist attack.
So far, the only images we have of Kirk with captain's rank and a different badge is in the time travel episode that apparently tackles alternate timelines and stuff according to one review.
So maybe him having captain stripes isn't a costume error, and he's not present day/Prime Kirk in that one episode.

Rewatching the opening of the series premiere and reminding myself just how good Pike's breakfast cooking is.
I guess Paul Wesley has actually joined the cast as a full time regular? I was hoping maybe he would be recurring. This is supposed to be Pike's show.
I know it's not possible, but I would love to see a cook off, Gordon Ramsey Style, between Pike and Sisko.
Hemmer was recurring and was in many publicity shots.
I thought Hemmer was a regular. He was in the credits. I actually was surprised on how little we saw him during Season 1 when I was doing my rewatch.
