Nothing about "Amok Time" implies that T'Pring is shallow. Devious and an asshole, sure. But that's an entirely different negative trait than shallowness.
Well if you don't have Paramount+, they put the whole first season on YouTube.
Wow here's to possible Enterprise crossover(s) about characters like T'Pol, time travel etc.

Why in the world would they put the whole season on YouTube? I thought they wanted to generate revenue for Paramount+ with one of its flagship shows. I guess I really don’t get series production philosophies these days. But, as David Lo Pan said to Jack Burton, we are not brought upon this world to “get it”.

I would imagine they figure that between ad revenue and use of it as a carrot for people to see the past season in anticipation of the new season it will be enough of a draw, since subscribership has probably dropped in the lull.Why in the world would they put the whole season on YouTube? If they want like S1, it'll make them want to buy P+ for Season 2.

I saw my next T'Pring focused episode last night with the Squall episode. I really hope in Season 2 they flesh out T'Pring more than just being Spock's lover. Having just seen Spock Amok, I felt like there was a lot of retreading here, yet we've seen T'pring as a strong willed and confident. Also, the guy they cast as Stonn does seem a little more squawny than the guy in the original.
I've also noticed that while my least favorite episode is coming up (All those who Wander), Hemmer really hasn't been in this series very much. Maybe his death was a given from the start, but I just disagreed with how they did it, considering Trek's idea of representation and all. I wonder if I will have a better liking for it when I get to it, knowing what is to come. Still, I do wish Hemmer was in this season more.

For the same reason they put S2 of Picard, S1 of TOS and S1 of VOY on Pluto TV (Paramount's 100% free streaming service)...Why in the world would they put the whole season on YouTube? They think it may bring new subs to Paramount+ and they believe those P+ subcribers that have seen the content now on Pluto TV when it was 'new' have already stayed, or moved on, but the latter may return when SNW S2 drops.
This is not a take that makes sense to me. Trek has killed women and people of color before, yet they shouldn't kill a blind man?
That makes no sense.
It was more of a shock that they did it in the first season. It actually gave me the same emotional feeling as when Hugh died in Picard. I was like, why?
The reason I really didn't like the episode though was because I didn't like that they turned the Gorn into the Aliens from the Alien franchise. At least Enterprise made them more menacing while still retaining something of the Gorn from the original series.

That’s because nobody has been able to get them right. Great concept - an actual alien that’s not just another bumpy-head-of-the-week (all due respect to Michael Westmore) - but always poorly executed. TOS probably had the best portrayal, but horrible production values due to lack of budget ruined suspension of disbelief. Future productions tried to use CG to depart from the slow moving man-in-the-suit nonsense, but departed from the original concept too much to make them recognizable as the same species.

We've seen several different versions of just about every popular race of Trek Aliens through the last 50+ years.
Why should the multiple versions of the Gorn be any different.
