I'm building the entire Starship Enterprise interior at 1:25 scale

Maybe build it at 1:50, that way it could actually fit into a room and it could be more easily transported. While I would love to see a finished 1:25 model it doesn't seem to be very practical.

He has already acknowledged practicality has nothing to do with it. It’s a passion project.
In that case I'll continue to be excited to see this, I was just momentarily worried when I saw how big the model will actually be.

A big block V-8 could fit in that secondary hull with wood planks and PVC tubes going in where the pistons go could hold up hollow nacelles.

What about this is supposed to be practical? This takes an impressive level of dedication that is imaginative not practical. Far beyond my capabilities but I applaud it nonetheless.
This was mostly me looking at a visual representation of the actual size and thinking it would NEVER fit into my home which is obviously completely irrelevant because it doesn't have to fit into my home.

Definitely one of the most interesting Star Trek projects I've seen in a while, I'm looking forward to every update.

I haven't been able to see any of the Facebook pages you've posted. They either say private group or "Sorry, this content isn't available right now." Bummer.

T
hat first pic at the top echoes the feeling when Kirk toured the outside of the refit E in TMP.

This isn’t his finished model. These are proof-of-concept builds he is doing.

Unfortunately, as he builds, he's going to face the reality that "gravity works". His stated materials of construction are going to bend and sag under 1G. Weight will rapidly become his enemy....

Mike just dropped a teaser on his next plans for a few things especially on the Hangar. Changes are coming.

I haven't watched all the videos, but earlier in the thread he said the final product would be built on a metal and wood frame. What would be good alternatives for something this size?

I assume support struts would be needed under the nacelles in any case, and toward the the front of the saucer.

I admire his enthusiasm, but if I were doing this I wouldn’t be using FJ’s plans except to help fill in certain blanks. I’d start with any number of excellent exterior drawings that have been done. I’d start with recreating the known sets and then go from there.

Thing is there is a lot about the interior layout thats a blank canvas.
