is it? I thought people had names.
My own headcannon is that Geordi retrieved the season 7 Enterprise bridge that was removed when it was refitted with the Generations bridge. That's the reason he didn't recreate the Generations bridge, because it was more historically accurate for the museum to use a genuine bridge that was actually used by the Enterprise.Alternatively, considering it didn't take long for the set designers to convert the bridge from how it looked in All Good Things to how it looked in Generations, you could assume the same for Starfleet engineers in-universe.

Avery Brooks isn't coming back. He gave us a good Sisko, but I get the impression he never even wanted the job to begin with. I read somewhere he basically gave a flat, monotone audition for the Emissary hoping to fail it, then ironically got the part because Sisko *was* supposed to be flat and monotone because he's still bitter about Wolf 359. And once the part was offered to him, Brooks wasn't going to say no to the job stability and money a Trek lead role had to offer. But I heard he still had his costars call him "Mr. Brooks", he never got close to them the way the TNG cast ended up being buddies, and while sci-fi also isn't Patrick's thing, he's basically a workaholic and welcomes the opportunity to work with his TNG friends again. So for most of this season, the major thought on my mind is how hard this season wants to be a DS9 sequel. Changelings, Section 31, the darker tone. If they could have gotten Brooks back and explained Sisko's return, it could have been Kasidy Yates and their child on the run in her freighter instead of Crusher and Crusher. The Borg stuff could have been replaced by Pah Wraith shenanigans pretty much one to one. Raffi's secret contact could have been Bashir (or still Worf I guess), secrety trying to reform S31 from within. Vadic's mad-on against a Starfleet family would have made more sense if it was against the man she believes is the reason the Dominion lost the war. I legitimately think O'Brien would have been a better narrative choice to man the Fleet Museum than Geordi, don't @ me.
Anyway every criticism I have flew out the window the instant I saw the D again. 10/10. I don't even care whether or not the floating skull head is coming back in episode ten now.
You’re right. Vadic said they could retain their form indefinitely. Maybe going to a liquid state helps with the pain. She also said they were in constant pain.
Someone tweet Matalas. He’ll know
So these changelings willingly take on permanent pain, shortened life, possibly no peace of mind (Vadic's dialogue implies they're driven mad by some voices, so presumably joining her group gets you linked to the Borg with no way to block it out or something), all just to assimilate the Fed and no guarantee this will make things better for the Dominion and high probability that it will make things worse because the Borgified Fed will obviously go after the Dominion next. You’re right. You’re using Bashirs surprise at detecting organs as an attempt to prove your point when it requires exposition that wasn’t provided in the episode
You’re making up something that isn’t specified in the shows prior.
it was never stated in any episode prior that the Changlings could imitate human or other species physical properties and biology.
Nothing in DS9 said the changelings created organs.
He’s basing it off of a line of speculation and taking it as established fact and then using a point of established fact to speculate lol.
DS9, at no point, said conclusively that the Changlings were perfectly mimicking the people they were impersonating down to organ arrangement.
They could have just been giving off false biological signals that read as organs.

Sometimes I wonder if in the long run it would be better if Sisko were played by another actor like Phil Morris or someone.
But I heard he still had his costars call him "Mr. Brooks",
You've just described the mentality of some terrorists/suicide bombers. People, largely motivated by a suffering inflicted on them that they feel justifies their actions, willing to destroy their lives to cause damage to their enemies with largely no strategic plan on how it will lead to a "victory."So these changelings willingly take on permanent pain, shortened life, possibly no peace of mind (Vadic's dialogue implies they're driven mad by some voices, so presumably joining her group gets you linked to the Borg with no way to block it out or something), all just to assimilate the Fed and no guarantee this will make things better for the Dominion and high probability that it will make things worse because the Borgified Fed will obviously go after the Dominion next.
And I thought DS9's female changeling was petty for ordering a fight to the end even after it was clear the Dominion would lose.
Mike Okuda tweeted this in October.. is that a picture from the new set or an old picture he had lmao

They couldn’t though. Mandatory haircuts would have found every changeling otherwise.

Oh, man. Haircuts would have been SUCH an easier changeling detection tool than blood screenings. Same thing, avoids those pesky syringes. Just snip, snip and you're done.
But I'm sure changelings would have found a way to beat that, just as they beat the blood screenings using (in all likelihood), the Joseph Sisko method.
Would have been cool if Bashir, while captured in the Dominion, was completely bald. The changeling impersonator stole his hair to beat the haircut screening!
