News Starfleet Academy Coming to P+

Here's where the arrogance comes into play:

The "Star Trek Legacy " TerryTrek petition is a lot of nonsense, but those folks have nonetheless collected over fifteen thousand signatures on their petition.

The Stop Luve Stupis petition has been up for three or four days, promoted here on a Star Trek board and on social media including Twitter and reddit, and has garnered exactly one signature so far - from someone signing themselves TILLY FOR STARFLEET ACADEMY EMPRESS in order to make fun of the stupid thing.

This is a campaign being promoted as launched on behalf of supposedly many "Star Trek fans" that cannot claim based on the evidence so far to speak for anyone other than the person who thought it up. And yet they still continue to pretend that they're spearheading a "people's movement" of some sort.

Feh.

I'd rather sign a petition for Hemmer's body to be dressed up in a skant.

It's be funny if Jack Crushers & Sydney La Forge's great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great Granddaughter is a major character in the show.
Oh my god, we need a gratuitous legacy character descendant. Or multiple.

Cadet Tamara Archer
Cadet Robert Riker
Ensign Bobby Janeway
Cadet Lauren Kirk

It's so cringe but this show was born to not only be cringe, but to own the cringe. Roll in the cringe. It's cheese, but it's delicious cheese.

Wow. I rolled my eyes so hard I think I strained something.

This is Junior Justice League/League of Super Pets/Disney Princess crossover type of pain.

One man's pain...
I mean, as a cartoon or board game or other such thing I could get on board with it.

As a TV show? No, sorry, I can't. To me that's basically saying "You know that Star Trek thing you love and all the characters you love? Here's their family member adventures!"

It's patronizing in a way that I find more insulting than edifying.

If Jack and Sidney hook up and reproduce, and that offspring hooks up with Riker and Troi's child, then you would have a descendant of 5 TNG crew members in one person.

It's ridiculous (and implausible 900 years later) I know exactly what you mean but... I love it. Every ridiculous contrivance piled onto Smallville made it more fun. I'd laugh in disbelief (see also Titans, featuring the cloned son of Superman and Lex Luthor. Or TNG where Tasha's time travel daughter became their chief nemesis for awhile) and I think a Trek show aimed YA and playing this bonkers nonsense 95% straight could work really well

Enjoy, my friend.

I'll be...some where else.
