    Doesn’t that describe DS9?

Except 1) Deep Space Nine focused on international relations, not domestic politics (which is mostly what an XB rights arc would be), and 2) Deep Space Nine had seven seasons; Picard was never gonna have more than three.

Deep Space Nine also had more than twice as many episodes each season than Picard does; in terms of story structure, Picard in other words is getting the equivalent of a season and a half of Deep Space Nine -- Picard when it ends will have had 30 episodes, the equivalent of if Deep Space Nine had ended with S2E10 "Sanctuary." So Picard doesn't have nearly as much time to tell a long-term story as Deep Space Nine had.

Not really, because the political machinations of the powers is left largely off screen, save for the occasional views from the heroes or viewpoint antagonists. DS9 had a longer run time, in terms of episode count and opportunities to mix in the politics with the action and adventure. And the crew was never far away from the adventure.

I've seen enough of PIC Season 3 now to know that it's the ENT Season 4 of Kurtzman Era.

I don't mean quality-wise. The show is a bit better, not some huge leap. I give DSC an 8 out of 10, SNW a 7 out of 10, and the first season of PIC a 9 out of 10. I give the third season of PIC a 9.9 out of 10. (Still re-appraising Season 2...) So it's not like, "I worship the ground Picard Season 3 walks on and everything else is shit!" Anyone who thinks that doesn't speak for me.

What I mean is, it's tying up and touching upon as many things as it can within a short amount of time.

It's the best season. It has been brilliant. And it proves that DSC and SNW are alternate realities by showing a 'proper' constitution class starship.

With all due respect to those who view continuity in such a literal manner How does it prove it at all?

It doesn't mean anything of the sort. It just means that the constitution class gets a sexy retrofit at some point. Discovery using footage from Unification during season 3 and referencing Voyager and Janeway and the Nacene etc cements the fact that it is part of the prime timeline as well

That’s pretty hard to imagine. The insanely huge quarters etc on pikes ship don’t add up to what we see in TOS. The Discoprise is significantly larger.

Star Trek has never been consistent on the size of anything. There are countless arguments about the windows for crying out loud.
