This line was just plain haunting.

There are many alcoholic beverages that taste good (depending on one's taste of course, but there so many variations that there is something for every taste)

If there is, I've never found one. Like I tried to like wine, but it tastes like putrescent juice (which I guess is what it is?). Best I've had is when the vodka is tasteless and not mediciney.

Anyone else find the script nonsensical and offensive? Would the old Picard have just given up hope in the middle of a crisis and headed down to the holodeck? Would a place for recreation really have its own independent power source while more important systems are failing throughout the ship? Would the ship's captain just hide away in his quarters? Should viewers just accept an android with the mind of elderly admiral is the only person who can "fly blind"?
Offensive? It's just a TV show. I'll save offense for things that actually matter.
Not sure he truly gave up. But he did want to get to know his son. And of course the team got it together and solved the problem.
Well, Voyager had the same thing for it's holodeck. And they also had an emergency holo-Doc. Someone pointed out that might be why. Don't wanna loose your holo-Doc in an emergency.
Which Captain? Shaw or Riker? Riker took some time to leave a message for his wife. Seems like some privacy would be in order. Shaw was wounded and on meds.
Checks opening credits. Crosschecks with the Paramount+ menu. Yep, the show is called "Picard", so yeah he gets to have a hero moment. No clue what being a synth or elderly has to do with it. Why should I or any other viewer not "accept it"?

After they make it out and the ship is free, I thought to myself "solid episode" and gave it a 7 out of 10.

Then the stuff at the end with Jack happens. That was great. Took me by surprise. 8 out of 10 I should have given it.

Renegade Changeling: Odo, I hate you! You're a solid lover trying to poison us with your solid loving propaganda even though they personally infected you, and us, with a genocidal disease! I even heard you mated with a solid! :barf:

Oh, but I'll copy your bucket-using ways even though you yourself gave that up years ago.
