Would it be cool to see young versions of Scotty, Chekov and Sulu appear on Strange New Worlds?

It's what is selling right now is familiarity. It's what I see asked after when new shows or seasons are announced. Familiarity is driving shoes.

How?

I do hope you are not putting me in that category because I have not watched either show, aside from one episode apiece to see if it was for me. Spoiler alert: it wasn't.

However, what I do want is consequences. I don't enjoy the "warping off to a new adventure" with no consequences to the characters. I don't like the idea that everyone is perfectly safe and will never die, no matter what. That doesn't mean I want a constant blood bath, but I also want there to be a tinge of danger and that choices mean something even if I know the main characters are not going to die. Shows like Brooklyn 99 do this perfectly well.

Why not? TOS is fairly untapped in terms of time spent in the era so having a TOS show would be fine. It doesn't take anything away from the original and explores an era that I think allows for some fun, while being fairly familiar to a large chunk of the population, e.g. not Star Trek fans.

How???

For starters T'Pring. The producers even admit they broke continuity with her. Shes a character I can do without. Spock is best left without her...imo...

Right, thanks!

See, context. They didn't break anything. Like you said, he used the word stretched. I'm struggling to remember if Spock ever said they never saw each other after they were betrohed as children, in Amok Time that is. If he didn't, there is no reason to asume they did not spend time together before that episode and were actually quite fond of each other.
The only real confusion would be both Chapel and Uhura not remembering her when she appears on screen in Amok Time. But one could easily say that their confusion is about the word 'wife' since they would know he never married her, and perhaps have not even talked to each other in years.

Yeah. No one said it. It was heavily implied in Amok time and the look on everyone's faces said it all when T'pring appeared on the view screen.(as you indicated)
Even though he said "Stretched" it was definitely a deviation from established canon. We shall see how far they go with it. But even if Canon was not stretched I dont think T'pring is all that compelling a character.

I do know some people have issues with Spock having sex and showing outward feelings toward woman In 2009's Trek and this show. But I do believe Dorothy Fontana said it was never the intention to imply Vulcans only mated once per 7 years. So that is not an issue for me. Perhaps we will see the more stoic Spock later on...

I never said broken. I said they broke continuity with T'pring. Which they most certainly and admittedly did.

You chose to use the words they used as admitting they broke it, because it follows your worldviews. They never actually literally stated it.

Think of it as Retconning because they have most certainly used that word and they most certainly have done that...

I get that many do not care if they change things. That's ok. I just prefer they keep it a little tighter to established continuity.

Nothing is the canon/continuity says Spock didn't spend time with T'Pring between the time of their bonding and "Amok Time". He mentions being bonded with her at age seven. We see him looking at a picture of her as a child. Some crew members express shock when he announces T'Pring is his wife. (though that's a fake out for THE DRAMA!!) Uhura is the only one to ask "Who is she?". I don't recall if Uhura and T'Pring crossed paths in SNW.

Establised at the time. Things chance. The real world does. So do fictional ones.

You then said "stretched." Which is it? Words have a meaning here and at this point it strikes me as being fan assumption being "broken" over continuity.

TNG stretched continuity too. That's the nature of fiction is that it is mutable and doesn't mandate historical respect.

I wonder why spock was not looking at a picture of her as an adult. Seems kind of weird that he is looking at picture of her as a 7 year old. I mean they dated for months. You would think he had an adult picture of her.
