Why hasn't DS9 been represented in NuTrek?

I don't think it's any deliberate dismissal of DS9 - as others have said, there just wasn't much story left to tell. It ended fine, so no need to continue anything.

TNG has Picard. Voyager has Prodigy. TOS has SNW. DS9 may be the best Trek of all time (along with TNG) but other than Odo it hasn't been represented in the new shows. Sisko, Mortok, and Dukot have been mentioned on a different reality in Picard. There is a ship named after Nog. That is it. There are so many interesting stories and characters that a lot of fans would love to see. I am hoping possibly one of the shows would be called Star Trek: Sisko. I get it could be difficult to convince Avery Brooks. However, they convinced Patrick Stewart. I would much rather see a Sisko show than an Academy show. Just frustrating that the show is getting such little respect.
Considering the standard of doom-and-gloomy NuTrek, maybe we should be happy that it hasn't.

I don't think we'll ever go back to DS9 because those sets look like they would be really hard to duplicate, especially on a budget.

I think Ezri and Bashir would be the easiest characters to transplant into a new story, but you need the right idea at the right time for that. There's only so much room for so many characters.

In a nutshell? Its self-contained.

Running into people who are out exploring the galaxy seems normal. Running into people who spend 99% of their time sweeping the floors in a space station, not so much.

In other words, the only way to really meet DS9 people is to go to DS9. Dax might be an exception - he could literally pop-up anywhere, anywhen. And as far as kids go... do we really want to see them? Lets see how Worf's whiny kid is doing these days. or maybe we can zoom-in on Sisko's kid writing something... wouldn't that be exciting? Listen, they gave us magical Shutup Wesley - haven't we suffered enough?

Indeed. Whatever gets done with the DS9 crew it will not satisfy. The story told it's story and that's the end and yet not, as it is quite open ended. To me, as much as I love novels, I prefer novels not with the "ride off in to the sunset" style ending, but the idea of them going on to the next adventure, together or separate. It might be unseen, but it's still wide open.

I kinda think we might get some DS9 stuff in LD and Picard S3.

Both showrunners are big fans and characters in both shows (Worf and Mariner) have ties.

For example, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to find Worf commanding the station and Picard having to go there. With a cameo by Ezri or Kira.

They could have just shown the DS9 parts of that entire trailer and I would have been hooked.
