The land fall scale was enlarged for dramatic effect, imo. The scene of it being towed made more sense, it appeared as smaller size compared to the Enterprise.

Episode 10 trailer has a new fed ship. I think it's the same design seen briefly in Episode 1 in the dry dock to the camera right of the Enterprise.

When Captain Batel's ship went unnamed in the premiere it made me think we'd see her in command of the Reliant at some point in the season.. Maybe I was right?

I really hope they don't retcon the Reliant as a TOS era ship, I HATE the fandom idea that the Miranda class was refit from something that looked TOS, I much prefer them being (at the time of TWOK) relatively newer ships that use tech from the Constitution Class refit. The Wrath of Khan is about 18 years in universe after Space Seed, and 26 years after TOS, the Miranda Class can easily just be a newer ship. I especially don't want to see the (knowing SNW) probably 500 meter plus long monstrosity they'd make a SNW Miranda. Its Captain's quarters would probably have an olympic size swimming pool :sigh:

Regardless of what the ship is, I do think that Batel will be showing up, it would make sense after she got a bit of set up in the first episode

We see the Reliant’s registry number on a chart in TOS. That ship has already departed.

    Or Farragut or Sacagawea...?

Vonda McIntyre's original Trek novels, I believe.

Pretty sure someone from the show mentioned the Farragut in an interview.

I don't think that "Miranda" type ship is the Reliant. It seems to blow up at about the 30 second mark in the trailer.

We learn he commanded the "Lydia Sutherland" in "Enterprise: The First Adventure". The name comes from two ships Horatio Hornblower commanded. Personally I'd prefer if they just used Sutherland.

    Well

I think most of the episode is going to be an illusion/alt-future where Pike decides to prevent the accident.

I can see how that might work, but if so, who do all those other blocky looking ships belong to? they don't remind me of anything in "Balance of Terror".

Curved nacelle pylons that sweep in? Not feeling it, to be honest.
Yeah....they can blow that one up.
