They know what they did.I feel sadder for those poor Gorn babies he killed jumping out.
The writers will need to do something about the in show character anger and general fanbase backlash Hemmer’s death brings surely?I haven’t caught up with this show since episode 6, but now I know Hemmer dies I might not bother. My favourite character.![]()
uhura may be black and iconic but boy, was she down graded on this show and not even needed.
though I do think I’m watching an altered timeline.
The bean-counters and marketers at Paramount+ call this a prequel, but you're better off just doing what most of the rest of us do and think of it as more like a soft-reboot.
Really, at this point, I'd say blur or go against canon (new timeline) for Spock/Chapel. (What's the portmanteau for that Spapel? Chock?) Because just feels intense between them and not it all on par with what goes on between them in TOS. This isn't a Spock who's going to throw her soup out his room door against the bulkhead.
I feel that they overdid the monstrous nature of the Gorn in this episode. It is difficult to see them as a species that managed to achieve space travel and build a galactic empire if they were this aggressive.
Furthermore, how the hell did Kirk best a Gorn in combat when it is stated in this episode that a single adult Gorn could take out several humans with little or no difficulty?
Star Trek Into Darkness
McCoy: Sweetheart, I once performed an emergency C-section on a pregnant Gorn. Octuplets. And let me tell you, those little bastards bite.
I had a bigger problem with Gorn being born and reaching "adolescence" in a few hours than I had with them reproducing asexually.
This is the same Spock who will tell her in 10 years that..... your face is wet and not get that she is crying.
Kirk in TOS was a swashbuckling cowboy who'd violate the Prime Directive just to have a cool story to tell in a senior staff meeting.
Either that or McCoy was just telling tall tales to play in to the moment.
I still tear up. Same with Tomlinson.
No, but after a certain point, it's time to call a spade a spade. I got half-way there during the first two seasons of DSC, when I thought of it as a Visual Reboot. Now I'm all the way there in SNW's case, thinking of it as an out-and-out Soft Reboot. Was there a poll?
i'm sure that when they find him alive that's what they'll go with for the explanationI do have a bone to pick with that ending if it had been anyone but hemmer i would have bought it but the fact that hemmer is an Anear and those guys basically live and adapted to a moon with very cold temperatures. He couldn't have just hid the snow and and killed the Gorn embryo with the cold? surly the lizard would have died before he did
The Host body for a particular Gorn Brood would probably be the deciding factor. We don’t even know if these were the sentient form of Gorn. For all we know, this could be a subspecies. The one Archer and Kirk fought could be different
