Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

I'd argue that that is a false statement, because by 1973 he certainly was imagining it on his own when he himself did actually create a deck by deck blueprint design and offered it to Roddenberry to sell through Lincoln Enterprises.
(He supposedly had the idea originally when first designing the Enterprise for TOS)

Though the "Blueprints" wouldn't actually be published till 1975, after a somewhat prolonged discussion between Paramount and Roddenberry about who exactly owned the merchandising rights to Star Trek.
Roddenberry lost and the Blueprints were eventually published through Paramount's Ballantine Book division in an exclusive deal with Joseph.

Are you attributing Franz Joseph's work to Jeffries?

You mean like an average of all four designs?

That would be such a better look than what we actually got for the JJ-prise.

My bad.
Another senior moment.
Confused the creators names and the history in my head. :brickwall:.

Roddenberry was actually the one who came up with the 'Blueprint' idea and approached Joseph to create them. (I knew this, I don't know why my brain thought otherwise)

The ensuing discussion with Paramount began because Gene approached them about using their publishing arm to get the stuff printed and sold.
That was when he was informed he didn't have the merchandising rights and Paramount went ahead with the exclusive deal with Joseph and soured Gene to it.

Don't get old, your thoughts get scrambled in yer head a lot.
(I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning) :scream:

Curiosity got the better of me in the end, so I grabbed top views of the four Enterprises and tried to combine them.

It's basically the most average Enterprise you'll ever see.
What do the inner Handle Bars on the Warp Nacelle do?

I know somebody knows the technical answer to that.

Damn, that looks good!
Only thing I dislike are the nacelle struts - they really look "average". In this case the "extremes" are the best ones - either completely straight as in TOS/JJ - OR as strongly angled as the refit. The "slightly bent" like on the DiscoPrise (or this amalgam here) just looks boring.

But I friggin' LOVE the proportions on this image, and IMO the nacelles themselves look great. Better & now individualistic than it has any right no be:guffaw:

I've not seen "Spock Amok" and "Lift" yet. Are any Starfleet ships seen or mentioned (besides the Enterprise and its shuttles)?

T'Pring has a ship in "Spock Amok", but it's uniquely Vulcan. Don't remember if others could be seen in the distance at the starbase. None stood out to me anyway. There are a couple of Majalan ship designs shown in "Lift". Nothing to write home about.

What is the name and class of T'Pring's ship?
We never saw her ship. The only new design we saw was the solar sail ship.
