I envy the people that did not notice the dummy. Because it was one of the most noticeable, cringey things I've seen on TV in a long time.
It's amazing what you can miss when you focus on something else That's how magicians fool the audience.

However, taking a point off the episode for such a small thing sounds a bit odd to me.

The dummies and stiff characters in other Trek series, however, are all too apparent. :p

It wasn’t the only thing I took a point off for, and it was more the slomo than the dummy; it seemed self-indulgent and pointless. I did honestly cringe a little when I saw it. But that’s just my opinion.

I didn't notice the dummy, but I did wonder how they did that, and I thought maybe it was CGI.
As bad as you guys think the dummy was, it's still nowhere near as bad as when Buffy carried Dawn on BTVS. I can't remember which episode it was, and I tried searching for the clip and nothing came up, but trust me, it was really bad.

I took it as yet another one of the episode's big reveals:
- Una is an augment
- the doctor's daughter is in the transport buffer
- Hemmer is inflatable (and deflatable)

Still liked the episode.
