Let’s be really fair, most of what fans would think would be a good show would be pretty terrible.
If this is Pike era, I want to see Pike crew. Pike, Number One, Spock -- those make sense. But where's Jose Tyler? Where's Dr. Boyce?
Neither does this one, but what I see time and again around different Trek chats is "Where is this character or that character?" And while I don't think that has much sway I think it informs the conversation of who to bring alongside. Not THIS one.![]()
Ethnicity vs. nationality.Sorry if someone mentioned this already (I’m not slogging through 33 pages of ‘Kurtzman sux’ just to post one sentence), but can someone explain to me why people keep referring to Kyle as Asian? Because the actor is Canadian…

As a Canadian-Korean actor, André hopes to continue to take part and create stories that shed light on the Asian Canadian experience and hopes to work and create more projects that show more diverse areas of Film and Television that have yet to be explored.

On Roseanne they had two Beckies. Later in the "final" season they switched Beckie one and Becky two half way through an episode to %%ck with us.
On Boy Meets World the little sister was played by twins, 15 years later on Girl Meets World, both the twins still got to play the same girl together at the same time, and the "characters" didn't act like anything fantastic was happening.
Are the same people saying it's a different Kyle awaiting a transporter malfunction episode that'll turn April into a white, British guy?
Because Kyle was such an essential character. TOS wouldn't be the same. We all know this.Still not seeing what makes Kim different from any other recast.
