I thought it was kind of all over the place.

I did LOVE the Q/Picard interactions though, those were written well. Q’s “who?” in response to Raffi asking about Elnor was classic Q.

How does the Stargazer timeline work since Rios stayed behind? What’s the “correct” timeline?

Ever since he became Wil Wheaton from The Big Bang Theory.

So many questions…. I have one too: can’t you have suspension of disbelief for 50 minutes and just enjoy what you’re seeing…? God, I’d absolutely hate it if I would start watching anything the way you do…….

Suspension of disbelief is fine and dandy. But it has to be in the right context. Should a car featured in a drama series fly? No. It's not a fantasy, even though it's still fiction.

Decent episode. Every episode this season has been watchable. But the season as a whole is decidedly less than the sum of its parts. The chaos behind the scenes, with covid restrictions and changing showrunners, is a bit too apparent on the screen.

And I am very unhappy about the way Rios and Jurati were written out, especially that the show wants me to consider them 'happy' endings. They aren't.

And I am very unhappy about the way Rios and Jurati were written out, especially that the show wants me to consider them 'happy' endings. They aren't.

Yeah. Jurati gets to not be lonely, only because she was assimilated by a Borg Queen who also didn't wan to be lonely?

Rios gets to essentially go back to the stone age in comparison to where he originally came from because he now has a family, a "home"? And gets to be murdered in some brawl later in life?

And Elnor? Well, he's alive again... but at Starfleet Academy so we won't be seeing him anymore.

Instead, Michael Dorn needs to extend his Star Trek episode winning tally.

Whatever indeed. This season is mostly popcorn entertainment. Things happened, but not a whole lot of critical thinking went into how or why they happened. Even something as simple as that massive energy wave at the very end of the last episode. The writer had a chance to give us a poignant scene of Q dying as he really was, and leaving the universe. Instead it's a cliffhanger for Season 3 where most of the main cast of the past two seasons won't figure in anyway.

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a Wesley Crusher Fan. Just that I never had a problem with him and I'm glad his joining the Traveller went somewhere, which was followed up on in Picard. When you get down to it, PIC was about a makeshift crew made up of people who were Ex-Starfleet and Non-Starfleet, and Wesley fits into the "Ex" column.

At the end of the day, though, it was really Wil Wheaton who appeared in this episode, not so much Wesley Crusher. And, like I said, he's a likeable guy.

I haven't seen anything from The Big Bang Theory after the second season. And even that was only in bits and pieces. My father used to watch it, so I'd catch some of it sometimes, before I moved out. Which happened to be after the second season.

I enjoyed the beginning and the end. The middle seemed to sag a bit.

So as I said earlier, I love this finale. It's probably the best finale of the new era, although that really isn't saying a lot because the finales have been the weak spots of these seasons thus far.

It wasn't perfect, but the story did hit home and I found myself genuinely enjoying it throughout, and I was genuinely moved by the "farewells" at the conclusion. Sure, if I wanted to be a jaded curmudgeon, I suppose I could write 3 or 4 paragraphs nit-picking away at it, but that's not how I'm wired. There were a few episodes this season that sucked, but the first 3 and the last 3-4 were really good, and I like the character arcs and how they concluded. I'm sad to see Rios and Jurati go...but this was never going to be a long-haul series anyway...so I'm totally at peace with it.

I think concluding the Q story (I mean the broader Q story, not just the one told this season) was a smart idea. Q was always an element of TNG that I appreciated, because he was one of the only elements of the series that held a mirror to Picard and showed us (and him) his flaws and humbled him. For me, that was always welcome because Picard was too-perfect a character otherwise. I like how Q admitted that he's been teaching Picard lessons the whole time, and that he has a strange "affection" for him. It was a nice conclusion to that relationship, and it harkens back to the themes of S1 that I enjoyed of truly exploring Picard as a character, and not just anointing him as the embodiment of virtue and Roddenberry's Vision.

I was almost 30 and wanted my own space. Not much of a story.

Yeah, sometimes my family drives me nuts, but that's normal. Nothing serious.

My jaw hit the floor when Wes turned up, the Q/Picard goodbye, Rio’s and a happy ending, the wrapping up of the storylines, it all just worked for me.

I think "Wesley Hate" became one of those groupthink elements of Star Trek fandom....like hating Star Trek V or saying that ENT's theme song sucks. It's just one of those things that caught fire as a common opinion, and everyone jumped on in without a ton of independent thinking on the subject.

I'm so glad they brought up World War III in SNW and not PIC. SNW was at least vague enough to say "The 21st Century", which gives a lot of wiggle room. Unlike PIC, which was only two years from now!

Early on he was very badly written. At least 3 good episodes with Wesley..
