Yes it was. It was done once in TOS.
To be fair unless I'm misremembering the one time they do is the time they establish how dangerous and risky it is. But given that the transporter has sensors with enough resolution to pick out and snag each individual molecule in someone's body at a distance of hundreds of thousands of kilometers I have a very hard time buying that "transporting within the ship" is beyond their capabilities.

He's being a contrarian. It's what he does. Plus it's a subtle way for him to see who'll fall in line behind him and do things his way. Anyone who's submissive to him and his opinions is someone he can dominate over.

He's playing a lot of you for fools. I don't buy any of his act because that's all it is. He might like SNW, to a degree, but the rest of this is all a song and dance.
Agreed. Maybe someone else will do the review threads down the road?

Well, I actually do have an issue with it, because in order for the transporter to function, realistically it needs to beam the person somewhere. To a planet or ship, it makes sense because you have thingies on the hull to do that. But how does one transport to a point inside the ship? The only way I see is if there are transporter "emitters" within the ship, making the transporter room pointless.

I'm not sure how good I feel about episode of the week now I'm in the afterglow. I'll have to see how it pans out. It certainly does a different job as a TV show than Discovery or Picard.

Edit - I thought at first that I didn't like any Discovery callback stuff, but now I've reflected on that then I'm glad that it happened in those small doses. Again, processing, I couldn't say why right now.

I hope were not gonna see ScarPike every episode if he catches himself reflected in an LCARS panel or whatever. I hope at least by the end of the Season that's something Pike has learned to curb. It is a horrible situation though, having that certain and painful knowledge...

I think it has all the makings of a good show. I hope Ethan Peck can ease up a bit.

This is the medical emergency transporter so it would make sense that it would have emitters in place (maybe even only in a few locations?) for fast travel to and from sick bay in an emergency.

Got a link to that command? Because its frakking stupid and now confuses me! Its like if the GOP decided to change the rules all of a sudden and make polls in their favor by reversing the score system. WARN US NEXT TIME YOU IDIOTS!!!
It's not really a command. It's just someone who doesn't know better.

Why are people still complaining about the fucking poll? Is it really that hard for people to wrap their minds around?

While this is probably arguable, I'm pretty happy to retcon this across the board. Why wouldn't they have a transporter in sickbay? Always seemed a little weird to transport the sick and wounded into a transporter room and then ferry them throughout the ship to get to sickbay.

I think it is because the transporter is supposed to be a bit of newer tech in TOS, and likely a power hungry piece. Much like intraship beaming is supposed to be dangerous in TOS, yet is routine ten years prior in DSC.

It is crazy to me how it's even a problem. I noticed, smiled, voted and moved on with my life. Which I think was the intention.

Still, Star Trek fans gonna be anally retentive sometimes I guess.

That ship sailed when ENTERPRISE showed us Transporters about 100 years before.

Plus, I never got the impression that Transporters were new tech when first watching TOS.
Only McCoy complained about them, everybody else treated them like a natural function of the ship.

I only knew they were new to me.
