Obviously, they're ultimately subjective. But this doesn't mean there isn't also an average symmetry out there. There's a reason why I rarely use ratings.

I mean...maybe?Obviously, they're ultimately subjective. But this doesn't mean there isn't also an average symmetry out there.
So now that the Borg are "good" might I suggest a few tips for them to change their entire image?
1) Change their green color scheme to something more inviting.......like pink or white?
2) When their ships are flying through space, they play ice cream truck music over the comms that will automatically hail any ships that fly near them.
3) Change their voice to Alexa or Siri.
4) Said voice will say "We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships......but if you don't want to, that's OK too. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.....if you want. Your culture will adapt to service us.....but only if that's alright with you. Resistance is not futile. Also, to any races we have conquered and hurt, we are very sorry and we wish to offer you a fruit basket to atone. Please enjoy."
I'm slightly reminded of the "Canadian Borg" meme.4) Said voice will say "We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships......but if you don't want to, that's OK too. I was under the impression that locking her up was only for the night, not a permanent solution, just something until they could get help.I think it might have worked better if they made Guias Picard’s character a little more flawed. Like if he didn’t really give a crap about Yvette and just locked her in her room so he wouldn’t have to deal with her. Instead they make it seem like locking her in her room is the right move which might make sense in the 18th century but is insane in the 24th century.
“Humanity has evolved, we eliminated war, poverty, hunger, we are amazing”
“Do you still lock crazy people in their rooms by themselves against their will?”
“…”
I don’t agree. The two times we’ve seen anything of him on Picard he seemed quite ok to me.But, I do think they still made it clear Maurice was emotionally abusive.
She committed suicide after she was let out.I mean, his wife committed suicide as a direct result. We don't need to be told Maurice's idea was moronic.
You are the expert here.Curious now, what would others do in Maurice's situation? Family member is struggling with mental illness and refusing to take medications that help. What do you do?
Agreed. But on the other hand Maurice has been portrayed as someone very self-reliant and adverse to modernity. Bottom line: even the best medical team can’t save someone if they don’t know someone needs saving. At minimum, one would hope that there would be trained mental health intervention specialists who could be called upon 24/7 to assist without using force or imposing treatment without consent. This is a very common policy proposal from the various Defund the Police/Police Abolitionism organizations, and Yvette's situation would be a prime example of a scenario appropriate for such mental health professionals.
So many circular conversations about this, all of which seem to revolve around the assumption that Yvette being locked in that room was a regular occurence and not an emergency measure on that one very bad day when she had a manic episode that got both herself and her young son lost in dangerous subterranean tunnels for hours. By the time Maurice found them and pulled them out, it was probably late, they were all tired. He locked the door to keep her safe for the night, most likely hoping she'd be calmer in the morning, hoping he'd be able to persuade her to accept treatment in the morning. But before that could happen, Jean Luc unlocked the door and she used the opportunity to take her life, unable to bear it any longer. She didn't kill herself just because she'd been in a locked room for a few hours. She was already in that headspace (unbeknown to her husband, who was a flawed man trying to help without really knowing how, reacting based on his own personality and hangups) - the locked door simply delayed it for a while. But she also refused to being locked into her room.
They could at least put a counselor with her into the room - whether she talks with the counselor is on her side, but just locking her away is clearly not in any way helpful for her condition.
Guess it makes sense with the "two Renee" thing. Q's trying to convince her not to go through with the mission, so Tallinn can take her place and die in some freak accident. And Renee lives to complete another mission. Or who knows? From this episode, I guess that Q is actually want to correct the time line. The one who will jeopardize the time line will be Soong, because the Borg Queen. Q wants to save Renee, it seems. But I don't know if we will get a sudden plot twist that make everyone surprise at the final episode.
Why you gotta kink shame?
Don't twist my words and make it all a big personal attack on people. I'm talking about an episode of a sci-fi TV show. If you're taking it personally and want to make me the villain for having an opinion then I have no interest to discuss anything with you. Go ahead and put me on ignore.Seriously. Think about the implications the things you're saying have for real people.
Trauma from his mom dying due to his actions?
Given Picard's history I feel like that's a pretty solid answer, especially since Jack Crusher died, that science officer almost died, Ba'ku lady almost died.
Dude must feel like he has an albatross hanging around his neck.
While only one two-page spread was seen in each of the two movies it appeared in, many more pages were created. These pages were highlighted in the Star Trek Generations (Special Edition) DVD special feature "Picard's Family Album".Picard's Mom Never became an Old Lady in Star Trek Picard But Her Old Photo was in his Album in TNG !
The video didn't add anything to your hypothesis......which was also invalid. So let's not do that again OK.Picard's Mom Never became an Old Lady in Star Trek Picard But Her Old Photo was in his Album in TNG !
