Being worried about repurposing existing props? Sorry this is an extremely common practice for shows and films even those with large budgets. Now Trek doesn't have a massive budget, compared to some of the largest budgets around (currently the Marvel series are running around 15-25 million an episode, and Lord of the Rings is going to be around 40 -50), but the 8-10 is considered to be having an extremely generous budget today, And even with that the productions of both Discovery and Picard have had to reuse props and FX to help get as much bang for their buck.

I don't think we need to worry until they repurpose the Blinking Tubes Without Function™.

Most of trek time travel is to fix mistakes that they created or to just observe.
So if none happened, it would lead to the trek future. There's no grandfather paradox ..

no one can say something like 'Curse you, Soong! You're perfectly old enough to remember the Eugenics Wars! Did you learn nothing from that?'

I doubt it would have added much to the episode if they HAD said that.

Everyone knows when the Eugenics Wars happen, they don't need to waste valuable screen time rehashing them. They're ancient history by 2024.

Jay Barnes was good as wells. Realized he was in the shield.

However would have been cool if they could have got Duchovney and Anderson. Wouldn't have to use names to avoid problems

Time travel stories make a Schrödinger's cat of any events from other series. Their existence or happening only applies if mentioned in the existing story. If the writers don't bring it up, the conflict with canon doesn't exist.

I think it's pretty clear Q has some powers still, just not omnipotence. He seems able to persuade people he's someone else, can hack into any computer system, and can generate genetic cures very quickly. All of this suggests he's still more than just a man.
He doesn't have his powers; but it appears he has all his memories and all the knowledge he gained over the eons. Thus yes he can probably understand any current human technology of the 21st Century and quickly hack into any system she needs to and plant any data needed to accomplish whatever goals he sets.

Is Patrick Stewart lip synching his lines? His lips and his voice seemed asynchronous in the interrogation scene. I noticed it when he was talking about the Europa Mission being potentially scrubbed.

It’s not uncommon to re-record dialogue during the editing and post production process for various reasons like script changes or accidental noises captured during initial filming. Sometimes the lip synchronization doesn’t always work.

Depending on the situation sometimes the actors have to do what is called 'looping' - which is re-recording their lines in a booth because the recording of the lines during the actual take used have some sort of problem (unwanted background noise for example). But they're usually pretty good about making sure the re-recorded lines match up. It could be that the audio and video when you were streaming desynched for a short time.

I explained it to my wife that the Borg Queen is 1 of 2.

So she's still pretty potent but can't "squash" the individuality of Agnes unlike the billions of people when she was part of a vast collective.

8/10
Not a bad episode. Can tell we are heading towards the conclusion of this particular arc.

Random Thoughts in no particular order:
  • Adam Soong is an asshole. How did he get all of those top soldiers so quickly? It seemed like no time had lapsed at all.
  • The soldiers seemed down with the chick in a red dress and black eyes touching all of them a little too easy. Not sure if I care for this new assimilation manner all that much.
  • Detective Wells was cool. Not sure I buy into his black ops interrogation site and the resolution to breaking Picard and Guinan out was kind of contrived. Can't imagine that there were no cameras his superiors weren't listening in on in the interview rooms when they caught Picard beaming into an alley so easily.
  • Rios ain't going back to the future.
  • We got more Q which is always a good thing. Was nice of him to explain to his enemy Guinan what's ailing him.
  • Wonder how long Vulcans had been watching the Earth prior to the first warp flight?
  • I miss Annie as the real Queen.
  • Could Raffi be any slower on the phaser draw in the car salvage yard? Stun her or at least try to. She's the freaking Borg Queen. She's eating batteries for God's sake.

Where, specifically?
Not specifically as "magic blood" but a basic biology understanding would lead one to conclude what makes Khan better at healing.
[Sickbay - medical ward]

(At Khan's bedside)
MCCOY: (to nurse) That'll be all. (she leaves)
KIRK: Bones?
MCCOY: He'll live.
KIRK: My compliments.
MCCOY: No, I'm good, but not that good. There's something inside this man that refuses to accept death. Look at that. Even as he is now, his heart valve action has twice the power of yours and mine. Lung efficiency is fifty percent better.
