The plaque doesn't say she took command in 2288. That's just the first year the ship was in service.

It says her mission to the LMG was from 2301 to 2305, and then she remained in command until her retirement in 2333.

Were TUC set during the TOS Era it'd be easier to believe Uhura doesn't know Klingon since the Federation and the Empire hadn't had that much continuous contact in the century since the Augment Virus struck but by 2293 she should know at least enough Klingon to not have to use a book as she translates.

At their current rate of 2 a day, ‪‪I think they may be caught up by Friday (Pike, Spock, Number One, M’Benga, Chapel & Ortegas?)

We could be getting a full trailer ahead of the convention, with there likely being a screening of the first episode at the event itself.

‪‪I’m generally very excited for the series, and the inclusion of a Khan relative is the one thing that really gives me pause.

I’m curious to see how they use the character, and how her story unfolds, but it’s with caution, and a generally weary attitude, with the way so many untold chapters and prequels mire a storyline or mythos with unnecessary interconnectedness and an almost incestuous need to reference the most often recalled elements of a franchise.

I’m not quite there yet with the first season, but I’m getting the feeling, knowing Kirk will be around already in S02, that I’ll end up at that point eventually myself.

I can understand that. The execution will be critical to me because very little grace will be given.
