I don't know, sometimes entire episodes of TNG go by and little or nothing happens on the ship. Or elsewhere.

 

I have to point out: Boimler and Rutherford immediately stopped and asked if Mariner was OK after noticing she had been hurt. She…Didn’t!

Just put Jon Benjamin in a hairpiece. Almost every other character looks like a good deal their voice actor (except Pam) that most of them could have played their counterparts in a live-action Archer, including the late, great Jessica Walter.

 

Yeah, I was surprised to learn that Chris Parnell wasn't the model for Cyril.

 

It was original, light on the fan service.

I actually thought I had heard before that it WAS the case, and that all of the resemblances were done with a possible live-action appearance in mind.

 

And somehow tie it into the Final Frontier!

 

And generally, if your opponent barfs all over himself and screams for you to stop, you kind of need to stop.

 

It's a cartoon. In cartoons, things are always exaggerated. It wouldn't have gone that far in live-action.

 

Very true. "Lower Decks" is actually more of a parody fanfiction than a serious Trek story. Otherwise, Boimler would be a section 8 and Mariner would be in the brig. And her mom would probably have been relieved of command.

Having written quite a few similar parody fics, I know the signs.

 

You clearly don't.

 

You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but it's going to take a lot of convincing for me to regard "Lower Decks" as a "serious" Trek story.

 

It's not serious Trek, it's a comedy. Just because it's a comedy does not automatically make it a parody.
