Unlikely, but there could be the one lone Tellerite that wasn't from Tellar.

We could have a Worf like situation where he grew up on Earth in Australia and learned of Steven Irwin and wanted to emulate him.

Why? Earth and Tellar are both members of the Federation. I'm sure there are Tellerites from Earth, Tellerites from Mars, humans from Tellar, humans and Tellerites and Vulcans and Bolians and others from other Federation home worlds or random colony worlds or born and raised largely among ships/space stations.

i think it was mentioned…It was anyway part of the joke: they show up with that and you think they put together a Kirk-style bazooka, but in fact it’s a projector.

Poor phrasing on my part. I meant did any TrekBBS member here already discussed the bamboo "cannon" earlier in the thread?

I really enjoyed this one. Can't believe I missed the Kzin crewman, considering they're a favourite of mine.

Brutal fight at the start, but if you've got magic healing technology I guess you can knock out teeth everyday if you want? Violence in sports, training and whatnot would likely be redefined by the 24th century. Hell, Worf broke Dax's ribs having sex on the regular and nobody much minded.

I was amused with how, despite all the progress the Ferengi made as a culture and as characters, Lower Decks just brings back all the hurtful Ferengi stereotypes and then some. But then that was a joke in itself, so super amused with that. Gave the episode an 8 because every joke landed, but then a couple went on too long.

I would very much like to see some more pirate Ferengi. No matter how nice Quark made them seem, there's Ferengi out there with the lobes to repeatedly try to take out the Federation's flagship on their own.

Edward Kenway would be proud.

was this the first episode that had sound fx during the opening credits (phasers during the Klingon, Romulan, Borg, Pakleds battle royale, etc..)? I don’t think they were there in S1 and I hadn’t been paying attention too close (or maybe just didn’t notice) until this week.

What a fun episode
I think the Mugato sex scene was a bit far though.

What?! You're nuts! That's the most Star Trek Star Trek has ever Star Treked! I mean, what's more Star Trek than watching two animals fucking against a hollow log and then one wanting to sit there and watch while he strokes his own horn?

HILLARIOUS! And of COURSE Mariner is an awesome, kick-ass, at Ambo-Jitsu (as she as at EVERYTHING else) I mean, this show is just fantastic!

How have I been a Star Trek fan for so long without this show existing before now!

TREK IS BACK!

More animals fucking and bad-ass characters relentlessly kicking the ass of her co-workers in arena games, please!

not to mention Janeway, Torres and Tuvok being assimilated and deassimilated with zero fuss.

Tastes a bit bitter.

Oh, and we definitely need more characters eating shit! I mean, how has Trek not done that before? Pfft. Forget episodes like City on the Edge of Forever, The Visitor, The Inner Light, and so many others. Give me officers eating shit!

Unlikely,
Why is it unlikely? It's not unlikely today.

Are you suggesting people don't immigrate to other places in the future with (or have) young kids there that grow up hearing the local accent and adopting it?

This is a comedy, not a series Trek series. Don't go in expecting completely serious situations.

Those are not the only stories to tell. This is false equivalency.

Watching this episode with my son, a child, was an exhibition of the finest cringe comedy.

I'm glad this was what we were watching when he asked to explain what "genitals" means, which results in a big laugh on his part.

As for the humping mugatos, I'm glad I was wearing a hoodie at the time, so I could do my best turtle impression.

He's gonna have a great story to tell, I think.

9/10

People seem to forget that this is a cartoon. In cartoons, people get beat-up crushed under a rock or a piano and they're fine the next scene.
