If you want LD to be different then how is that beneficial to this show as it has been framed as a comedy?

As noted, there are different ways to write comedy. You don’t have to cheat in exaggerated behavior and situations. You don’t even have to make the show a comedy all the time.

immutable? No one said immutable but you. Every show has a basic theme.

Yes, the title is Lower Decks. Suppose the idea was to make each season about a different kind of comedy, or to start the way it did but gradually transform the series by changing the animation style and stripping away exaggeration? What if live-action episodes were added also? I’m not saying to ever make it feel like course correction / retooling, but more like the inherent part of the concept. Why shouldn’t LDS be hailed for its innovative approach to Star Trek, animation, comedy? Because it’s supposed to be the part of the menu responsible for bringing in fans of prime-time animated comedy?

It's not a cheat if it is the literally built in to the concept of the show from the beginning.

Because that's not what it is.

And we're back to mediocrity with "Lower Decks." Started out kinda fun, but man did it get repetitive in the second half. Bleh.

And Tendi is just the absolute worst character. Rutherford may be a total nothing, but Tendi is actively and deeply annoying and makes the bland Rutherford worse. Those two together almost single-handedly are killing the show.

You want to change Lower Decks from what it is into something that it isn't so you can appreciate it for what it could be? As I said, what you want and what is there just are not going to meet. You will not get steak out of these french fries, it's just not going to happen, but you have a chance elsewhere, including future franchise efforts.

Star Trek: Discovery
Star Trek: Picard
Star Trek: New Worlds
Star Trek: Section 31
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
Star Trek: Ceti Alpha V

There are other chances for further Trek enjoyment that may scratch the itch. Wanting a show that is not designed to cater to your specific demands to cater to them to the exclusion of its own premise is unreasonable. Your best bet is elsewhere, friend.

You're worse at predicting the death of things than the guy trying to chuck his father-in-law on the plague cart in Holy Grail.

I'm referring to the quality of the show, not that it's going to be cancelled.

No they're not.

They're mind-boggingly horrible. The show was poorly conceived from the ground up. 50% of its core four characters are completely annoying and worthless (and also share nearly identical personalities.) Awful, awful writing. Garbage level. Truly staggering. I will probably fast forward through all of their scenes going forward.

Tendi is awesome, I love her.

Fast forwarding through an entire show? Novel approach, I'll give it that.

I truly believe you are from the Mirror Universe as your views are so inverted from my own that you could only be from a place where right is wrong and up is down.

I seem to remember somewhat predicting not too long ago, that the 'Hate Watchers' would be doing exactly that ... much to CBS/Paramount's delight.
(they don't really care about your dislike, as long as you continually have your eyes on their product)

I truly don't understand why anybody would watch something they obviously don't like.
There must be some special glee in being able to rip a hated TV show to shreds on a BBS, that escapes me.

Perhaps to be proven right and to mock the dirty masses for daring to like it???
