Fair enough, but there is no need to assume the worst about every other storyline of the season just because you don't like Q. You have absolutely no way of knowing whether the story threads that interested you last season will be picked up on or not, but you keep talking about it as a done deal anyway, assuming the worst based on nothing but your own fears and biases. Maybe I'm naive, but I had thought better of you than that.
None of it is a done deal. The indicators are not ones that inspire much confidence, especially the idea of using a reset button to undo mistakes of the past season. Now, it isn't done at all, but the idea of it is rather off putting.

Isn't the notion of a reset button to undo the first season just a fan theory? There has been no official information to indicate any such thing, not that I've seen. The teaser implies time travel or an exploration of alternate timelines, but that's a very different thing than specifically undoing development they just spent a full season exploring.
I saw a lot of similarly outrageous fan theories ahead of season one, which alarmed a lot of people here, but none were proved true when the show actually aired.
I find it easier to be optimistic than to assume the worst. We'll find out soon enough. And going into it with an open mind makes for a far more enjoyable viewing experience!

Why are we believing the clickbait? Of course Picard season 2 won't ignore season 1.
I daresay it's a theory which is predominantly coming from people who are very much not fans of this particular series. Same way that people who dislike the Kelvin films rush to promote rumours that the timeline will be "fixed".
Screenrant, like Gamerant and other affiliates, has very little administrative overhead. They're all about pumping out content, content, content. There are good writers over there and there are bad ones. But they're all shackled to the sort of machine I'd hate to get dragged into.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the Picard season 2 leaves a changed timeline, both forward and backwards, making it easier for writers to set aside canon/continuity established in previous series.
Fans have always been saying something like that should/will happen whenever there's a time travel story. It never does.
The X-Men film series had no problem rewriting its own timeline permanently.
And Patrick Stewart was in X-men. So, clearly James McAvoy will clearly replace Stewart as Picard.
John DeLancie has been hinting at a MAJOR development in S3.
I'm wondering if Q is going to give Jean-Luc a chance to "regenerate" a la Dr. Who? (The show can still be called "Picard" -- it'll just be a younger actor playing Jean-Luc.)
Black Picard or female Picard first?
The show has already checked off THOSE boxes.
For now, let's stick with young, hot, male, and British.
Or James Bond (the Aussie George Lazenby being the exception).
