Picard Season 2's Time Travel Will Fix Season 1's Biggest Mistakes

Nope. It was too futuristic. Didn't work. I couldn't stand it. Writers were so invested in looking like TNG it reflected poorly. Archer was a terrible captain. No enjoyment like real Trek.

Better aesthetic than the mess of Discovery. Ent didn't resemble TNG much at all. Except in production values. ..

I sometimes wonder reading threads like this: is there an instance of Trek - obviously not an entire series - but an episode, or even a single scene, that everyone who professes to be a Trek fan can agree is good / quintessential Trek?

One instance.

Spock's death in TWOK? Unanswerable question, I know.

And visuals. It didn't mesh right. Discovery was more interesting.

Discovery is mostly flash....Constant loud music... and doesnt mesh at all except with maybe the alternate continuity movies...
Again it does (as well as Picard) have a few nice moments but sadly not enough. Mentioned in other threads over the months. Pike was actually one of the few elements I did like in Discovery.

It fits well enough for me.

I would love more quiet moments but I'm generally satisfied. Season 2 likely is not going to appeal to me.

It would have to be something that came out between 1982 and 1994. Anything before that and you'll have someone say, "The old stuff is too cheesy and boring!" Anything after that and you'll have someone say, "The later stuff sucked and so does all the new stuff!"

No love for TOS? Sounds like middle school again.

Friend: I love Star Trek because it's scientific, realistic, and deals with complex moral lessons.

Me: I love Star Trek because it has space gods, weird ass planets, and a binary good vs. evil.
